Is Sydney Sweeney using botox?

Sydney Sweeney has been making headlines again following the release of Euphoria Season 3. However, this time it's not because of her alleged relationship with her co-star, Zendaya. Rather, Sweeney sparked discussions about the actress getting botox. In the hit HBO series, the actress is seen essaying the role of 'Cassie Howard', a character best known for her chaotic love life and insecurities. One of the scenes in the third season of Euphoria shows, 'Cassie' having an argument with another character named 'Heather', played by actress, Jessica Blair Herman.

The speculations began after TikTok user, evie.magazine uploaded a clip from one of the scenes. The snippet highlighted Sydney Sweeney's facial expressions, highlighting her wrinkles as she delivers her lines. The other character, on the other hand, is enraged. However, her facial expressions appear more static, a contrast that the video's uploader attributed to possible Botox use. The account alleged that the use of Botox can affect an actor's performance, especially when expressions are vital to the scene. As Sweeney's face moves freely in the scene, she can tense her muscles and show her wrinkled face on camera. The post was quoted as saying:

"A scene from Euphoria Season 3 is going viral as viewers point out how noticeably different actors look, sparking debate over how things like Botox and cosmetic tweaks are changing the feel of on-screen performances. Do you agree? #euphoria #cassie #sydneysweeney #botox #acting"

Fans react to the botox claims

Soon enough, the video started making the rounds online, with fans pointing out how different the two actresses looked and how that affected their performances. A user penned, "Fillers are actually so crazy bc with Sydney's acting, you can literally see that Cassie doesn't care about in her facial expressions, but the other lady's face doesn't move at all, like if you watched without sound, you wouldn't know she was mad." Another user wrote, "They can have both. Amanda Seinfeld said that for the housemaid movie, she stopped Botox a couple of months before they started filming, and she was MAGNIFICENT in that role."

A comment read, "Definitelyyy noticed that. Glad someone pointed it out." A user penned, "Omg that's a HUGE difference." A user wrote, "The woman's face was motionless and expressionless, with no emotion at all due to Botox vs the clear expressions on Sydney's face."It’s funny because the scene felt off, but at the same time, I didn’t know why since Sydney Sweeney’s acting was phenomenal. Thanks to Twitter, now it makes sense what was throwing it off; it was Cassie’s friend." A user in a long note wrote:

"This is a legitimate hurdle for casting directors right now. When an actor’s face is physically incapable of micro-expressions, the performance loses its soul. Sydney’s ability to look genuinely unhinged is exactly why she stands out. She’s not afraid to let her face move naturally"

Nonetheless, some users disagreed about botox use and penned, "I lowkey think it makes the scene better to understand her character. She’s a spoilt rich woman from the suburbs, and they all inject their faces. Also, she was mad annoying, perfect for what the character should be." Another wrote, "Idc if u guys hate her or not, but she really ate with her acting every single scene in that show, she really did deliver."
