Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel's controversy has been going on for a while now. The scandal began with some photos going viral, and ended with Dianna losing her job, going MIA from social media, and Mike ending up in counselling and reportedly dealing with a difficult phase in personal life.
Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini countered their viral Arizona photos with respective statements. On the same day, the snaps went viral. Mike called it 'laughable' while Dianna said that the meet-up was professional. While the intensity of the controversy was non-stop deepening, another strike came with their viral photos from 2020 and 2024, wherein they were seen kissing and being cosy.
Mike Vrabel kept up with his silence for several weeks after the controversy broke out, and then, during a press conference, he admitted that his past actions don't hold the standard he has now. He also said prioritising the family he cares about, and also seeking counselling to be better. When Mike was keeping up with silence, a conversation from the NFL world was ongoing, with several people claiming that he needed to speak out. Now that he shared his side of the story, the Patriots' Drake Maya broke his silence about the same.
In a supporting tone, Drake reportedly told 7 News Boston WHDH’s Jonathan Hall that they are rooting for Mike Vrabel. Drake also mentioned that the Patriots love Mike and what the coach does for them. He also expressed his gratitude to Mike for being their head coach. He further addressed the tough situation that has been going on for Mike outside, stating that, while Mike has a lot going on, they know he will soon come out of it. Drake could be quoted as saying:
"We’re here for coach, we love coach and what he does for us, and has done for us this past year. You can’t speak it into words, and thankfully, he’s our head coach. We know he’s dealing with some stuff off the field and out of the coaching world but we’re here for him and I know he’s gonna come back."
Dianna Russini's employer, The Athletic, kept her on leave and ran an investigation on her while the controversy was ongoing. Well, in the middle of it, she resigned, stating that while she is grateful for the support, she will not let anyone define her career. No further update about her career is known. Now, as Dianna lost her job, questions about Mike's future with the Patriots were also up. If a report by the Daily Mail is to be believed, the Patriots would not let Mike go, and they also wouldn't want him to resign under pressure.
Well, having said that, the Patriots' owners have also been eyeing a potential replacement for Mike Vrabel, as reported, and if things get more intensified or if Mike would have to choose anything, falling under the pressure, then the potential replacement will reportedly be Mike Tomlin. A recent report by the Daily Mail revealed that Mike Vrabel feels remorseful for the outcome the controversy had on Dianna Russini's career. Reportedly, he feels terrible as Dianna might never be able to work in the near future.
