Daveigh Chase was 35 years old at the time of her death. Notably, the late actress was active in the entertainment industry since 1998 and retired ten years ago in 2016.
Daveigh Chase’s sudden demise has prompted a wave of tributes across social media platforms. The actress was 35 years old at the time of her death on June 16, 2026. Despite having a successful career of more than 15 years, Daveigh secretly retired from acting in 2016 after appearing in the thriller film, American Romance.
While confirming the news of her death, Daveigh’s manager, John Ryan Jr, revealed that she was hospitalised for malnutrition. Reportedly, she shortly battled with meningitis, leading to sepsis, which eventually led to her death. While Daveigh’s death has led to discussion for various reasons, new details have recently emerged in the matter. Keep reading to know more!
Although Daveigh Chase left the entertainment industry about ten years ago, her life has remained a topic of debate for certain reasons. The actress was allegedly dealing with a tough phase over the last few months, leading up to her death. The claim was made by Daveigh’s manager, John Ryan Jr. In a recent interview, John recalled that there was one particular instance where he and Daveigh’s step-sister, Gaia Brown, were not in touch with her anymore. The duo tried to find Daveigh and help her.
There was another incident in 2025 where Ryan was informed about a viral clip. The video featured Daveigh appearing in a weak condition on Skid Row in Los Angeles. Notably, Ryan and Gaia approached a private investigator so that can provide the help Daveigh needed at that time. While the clip was eventually deleted from online platforms, Daveigh reportedly appeared thin and was hardly conscious while lying on the floor at the same time.
When John first discovered the video, he immediately went to Skid Row to find Daveigh Chase. However, she was not there anymore. John recalled the experience by saying that they were very close to find her. The initial plan was to help Daveigh join a rehab in Costa Rica, which was owned by a friend of Ryan.
Daveigh Chase’s personal life has also grabbed attention after her death. The reason is a GoFundMe page, launched by Daveigh’s alleged boyfriend, Roy Hernandez. The page aims to accumulate USD 5,5000 and it has already raised more than USD 3,000 so far. However, the fundraiser is creating headlines as it has not mentioned the reason for which the money is being collected. Meanwhile, John Ryan Jr. also criticised the fundraiser allegedly launched by Roy, as he stated:
“Apparently, a man claiming to be her ‘boyfriend’ that none of us friends or her family has heard of has set up a GoFundMe on ‘her and her families behalf’ that he set her up as the organiser. I can confirm Daveigh has a trust account set up at SAG to cover all costs.”
Daveigh Chase gained recognition over the years for giving her voice to certain characters on shows such as Fillmore!, Lilo & Stitch: The Series, and Betsy’s Kindergarten Adventures. Daveigh was even cast as the main villain, 'Samara Morgan,' in Gore Verbinski's horror film, The Ring. She has also portrayed 'Rhonda Volmer' in Big Love and has been featured on other shows, including Charmed, The Practice, ER, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and more.
