For those unaware, Chet, who is Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson’s eldest son, recently had a very public confrontation with Eric André. In a video that has been going viral on social media, Chet can be seen cornering the comedian to have a face-to-face conversation with him. With their feud peaking and the spotlight on Chet, his alleged assault on his ex-girlfriend has now resurfaced.
According to reports, Chet Hanks' ex-girlfriend, Kiana Parker, and the actor began dating in March 2019. In her filing, she said that they began living together a year later, in 2020. She alleged that there were three arguments that occurred between them at that time when Chet placed his hands on her “forcefully” and threatened her.
Parker claimed that the first incident allegedly occurred on October 18, 2020, when she traveled to New Orleans to support Chet Hanks' role in Showtime’s Your Honor. Back then, the former couple got into an argument about where they planned to have dinner while they were staying at the Windsor Court Hotel.
As they went outdoors, Parker claimed that Chet "grabbed her by the wrist and forcefully pulled her to himself. While holding her wrist in a tight and painful grip, Defendant Hanks demanded that they go back to the room."
She further alleged that after this, Chet Hanks began to “verbally assault her.” Later that night, Parker said that he “became aggressive and hostile.” The petition stated:
"As the Plaintiff was lying in bed, Defendant Hanks started verbally abusing and threatening her. He shoved her, threatening her with imminent bodily injury while stating, 'I would not disrespect him, he was in control, he would not allow what happened with his mom and dad's relationship to happen to ours' and other things."
Kiana Parker also claimed that Chet Hanks “grabbed her with great force” when she decided to leave. However, Chet “pushed her with such force that Parker knocked over tables in the room.” Court documents stated that Chet “threw a bottle” at Parker before angrily grabbing and pushing her. The reason that Parker did not immediately report the alleged assault when she was questioned by a security guard was that she feared future reprisals from Chet Hanks.
The second incident occurred in Sugar Land, Texas, on December 22, 2020, when Chet allegedly threatened murder suicide. In the third incident, Parker alleged that he picked up a knife and came at her. When she tried to pull out her phone to record the altercation, Chet Hanks 'manhandled’ her. As per the filing:
"Defendant Hanks kicked Parker's legs and caused her to fall as he dragged her across the pavement. Defendant Hanks was pulling Parker by her right arm. Parker felt that her arm was coming out of place."
Reports state that Parker alleged her ex-boyfriend committed assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. This led her to seek monetary relief of over USD 1 million.
Chet Hanks and Eric André crossed paths during the Los Angeles ComplexCon over the weekend. A video shared by Chet shows him approaching Eric from behind and grabbing him by the shoulder. While Eric seemed happy to see Chet, the situation soon took a turn when the actor began confronting him about comments that the comedian made on an episode of The Eric André Show.
Eric André appeared visibly confused at what happened, and eventually his security team stepped in, and he walked away. When Chet still called after him, Eric shrugged and yelled, “No memory whatsoever,” referring to their previous dispute.
