Chappel Roan is currently hogging the limelight for all the wrong reasons. For those unaware, the American singer-songwriter has found herself in the midst of controversy involving soccer star, Jorginho's 11-year-old step-daughter, who also happens to be actor, Jude Law's daughter. Recently seen performing at the Lollapalooza Brazil show on Saturday, March 21, 2026, Jorginho accused Chappel and her team of leaving his daughter ‘shaken’ and ‘in tears.' Well, it seems that just after he made the accusations, when Chappell took to the stage to perform, she thanked her security in front of the large crowd of fans.
Recently, former Chelsea and Arsenal player, Jorginho, slammed Chappell and her security, claiming that the singer's bodyguard confronted and threatened his 11-year-old daughter after she was spotted in the same hotel as Chappell. However, just hours after he accused the singer's security of aggressive conduct, Chappell Roan publicly thanked her security team during her March 21, 2026, performance at Lollapalooza Brazil. During her set, she could be heard saying, “Thank you to my security, my crew.” It is worth noting that at the time, it was unclear whether Chappell was aware of Jorginho's allegations, as she did not address them directly.
With the clip of Chappell thanking her security going around the internet, fans have weighed in on the matter. While some are defending Chappell, others think that Chappell knew about the situation but still thinks her behaviour was right. One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “Every time I hear about anyone interacting with Chappell Roan, it is an extremely unpleasant interaction for the person. I don't know what in the world has made this young lady so sour.” Another wrote, “Thanked them for protecting her from 11 year old girl smiling at her?” A third fan penned:
“Chappell didn't behave aggressively, her team does what thinks it's best. Why being Jude Law's daughter make her any more special than any other person? If this happened to Jane Doe and it does by various artists it wouldn't be a scandal. Nepo daughter got reality checked.”
Apparently, it all started ahead of the much-awaited Lollapalooza Brazil event in a Sao Paulo hotel where Jorginho and his family were staying. The soccer player claimed that his daughter was really excited for the day, and when she noticed Chappell, she smiled at her in order to confirm if it was really the singer. However, when she did that, a security guard from Chappell's team approached the girl and her mother and accused them of harassment. According to Jorginho, this left his daughter visibly upset and in tears. Following the experience, Jorginho shared a lengthy post on his Instagram Stories, a part of which can be read as:
“I went through a very upsetting situation with my family earlier today. My wife [Catherine Harding, who also goes by Cat Cavelli] is in Sao Paulo for Lollapalooza Brazil. This morning, my daughter woke up incredibly excited. She even made a sign because she was so happy to see an artist she really admires, or used to admire.”
While Jorginho did not mention his daughter by name in the note, reports suggest that it was Ada Law, whom his wife, Catherine Harding, shares with her ex, Jude Law. In the post, Jorginho further claimed that the security guard also told Catherine not to allow her daughter to disrespect or harass others. Noting the same, he wrote:
"A large security guard came over to their table while they were still having breakfast and began speaking in an extremely aggressive manner to both my wife and my daughter, saying that she shouldn't allow my daughter to ‘disrespect’ or ‘harass’ other people. Honestly, I don't know at what point simply walking past a table and looking to see if someone is there can be considered harassment…My daughter was extremely shaken and cried a lot."
