Every mommy-to-be ensures that they add a touch of their traditional and cultural roots to mark the first celebration of the new mom and their soon-to-be-born child. Check out these Tollywood celebs who opted for a traditional South Indian baby shower.

Former Bollywood and Tamil actress, Sameera Reddy enjoyed a stunning traditional South Indian baby shower ceremony on June 20, 2019. The actress, who is married to the love of her life, Akshai Varde, was expecting her then-second-child, their daughter, Nyra, who was born on July 18, 2019. Sameera’s family, especially her mother-in-law, Manjiri Varde, had arranged an elaborate and entirely traditional godbharai ceremony for the actress, who looked gorgeous in a yellow-hued silk saree. A sleek bun, temple jewellery and nude base makeup accentuated her look.

Kannada actress, Pranitha Subhash got married to Bangalore-based businessman, Nithin Raju on May 30, 2021. A year later, the stunning couple announced the news of their pregnancy to the world. To mark the occasion, Pranitha celebrated her godbharai ceremony in a completely traditional manner. The actress looked pretty in a yellow and pink-hued silk saree and radiated a sheer pregnancy glow. She had completed her look with temple jewellery, blushed makeup and a long gajra-adorned plait.

Hema Malini and Dharmendra’s darling daughter, Esha Deol, tied the knot with the love of her life and diamond merchant, Bharat Takhtani, on June 29, 2012. The couple welcomed their first child, their daughter, Radhya, in 2017. However, before the arrival of their princess, the then-mommy-to-be had enjoyed a traditional South Indian godbharai ceremony hosted by Esha’s mommy, Hema. The then-mommy-to-be had looked gorgeous in a red-hued anarkali from the shelves of Neeta Lulla for the day. The traditional godbharai ceremony was arranged by Aishwarya’s mom, Brinda Rai, in a private event at a posh hotel, attended by only close friends and family. Every arrangement, from food to décor and rituals, strictly followed the Tulu traditions. Former Bollywood and Telugu actress, Rambha celebrated her third godbharai ceremony with her husband, Indrakumar Pathmanathan in a typical South Indian celebration in 2018. The couple twinned in traditional south-Indian attires for the event as she celebrated the occasion with her family. For the day, the actress looked stunning in a multi-coloured silk saree, which she teamed with minimal makeup and a few traditional jewellery pieces. Moreover, she styled her hair with a string of mogra flowers, adding the final traditional touch.

The godbharai ceremony was completely traditional, and Shamna looked stunning in her attire for the event. The actress opted for a maroon and gold-hued silk saree teamed with heavy jewellery and a loose hairdo.
