Amidst it, her old memoir is going viral, wherein she talked about her ex-husband's infidelity.
As Carly is in the headlines, her old memoir, wherein she claimed that her ex-husband, James Taylor cheated on her resurfaced. For those who don't know, Carly and James were the most loving couple, but they marriage hit a rough patch when the former caught her husband cheating on her.
Carly released her memoir, Boy From The Trees, wherein she shared that her husband cheated on her with a back-up singer, whom she decided to not name. In the memoir, she named her husband's mistress as 'Evey'. She revealed that he would take her to his studio aparment where he practices and rehearsed on the Upper West Side.
The couple was still living together with their two children. In the memoir, she recalled the moment she decided to confront her husband's mistress, as she wanted to show her what kind of woman she was. She wrote:
"Why was I planning to face down my husband’s mistress in their West Seventieth Street love nest? Because I wanted Evey to see that I was not a character in a story James was telling her, not some phantom abstraction, but a real person, and a nice person, too. I wanted her to respect James’s and my marriage, our children, our life together."
However, Evey told her all the things James told her about Carly to make the affair look justified. It was the heartbreaking end to their fairytale affair.
For those who don't know, recently, Carly Simon talked about her cancer and Parkinson disease diagnosis. She revealed that she had taken her time to understand what she has been going through. She was quoted as saying:
"So many people have written to me, kindly wondering about my relative silence, asking how I am and what I have been doing. The truth is, I've been learning how to live with Parkinson's disease. It has taken me some time to understand the diagnosis, to adjust to it and to decide how much I wanted to say about it publicly."
For those who don't know, Parkinson's disease is a degenerative syndrome which leads to slow loss of brain circuitry involved in movement, thinking and behaviour. It also causes tremors, stiffness and falls. She talked about the same and said:
"Parkinson's is different for everyone, and it can be unpredictable. Some days I'm so tired I can't get the day moving at all. On others, it gives me a little more room to move, think, work and feel like myself. I had trouble standing up from low chairs and deep couches without someone offering me an arm. Overstuffed furniture became my enemy. Once seated, I could feel as though I had been swallowed by the chair and might remain there permanently, like a guest who had badly overstayed her welcome."
