It is widely regarded as one of the most auspicious colours for an event like a bridal lehenga. These days, brides are breaking the stereotypes and are coming up with various experiments that comprise ditching the traditional red colour and opting for the off-beat colours. One of the most common colours that have attained huge popularity is the white colour and it has been there for some time. She wore a shimmery silver-white lehenga by ace designer, Manish Malhotra. While the lehenga looked white, it also seemed to have a hint of pink, which made it a stunning ensemble all together. With this lehenga, she colour-coordinated her entire look. When it came to her accessories, she had styled her look with an elaborate diamond and pearl necklace, chandbaalis and a mathapatti. Keshavi opted for another pastel colour outfit for her mehendi ceremony and she looked like a doll, straight out of pastel heaven in the gorgeous outfit. A pair of Kaleeras is a unique combination with the chooda, which signifies happiness for the newlyweds and eternal love between the couple. The bride’s sisters and friends tie the kaleeras to her chooda. They are golden or silver in colour. However, Keshavi opted for a different colour instead. She choose to go little hatke with the colour and opted for a pair of white kaleeras and chooda to break the trend of traditional colours. The significance of Chooda and Kaleeras is to provide good wishes to the bride and to remind her of her cousins and friends, whom she is going to leave behind when she gets married. Also, the coconut shape of the kaleeras is symbolic that she never runs out of food in her new home, while the metal symbolises wealth and prosperity. Often there are dried beetle nuts, dry fruits and coconut encrusted on the kaleeras. Traditional, elegant and eternal, you can just never go wrong with a pair of kaleeras. The ritual is followed with the bride shaking her chooda and kaleeras on the heads of all the unmarried girls. It is believed that if any part or leaf of the kaleeras falls on the head of any girl’s head, she will be the next one to get married. The next day after the wedding, one of the kaleeras is left at the temple with the priest for blessings and the rest are kept by the bride as a memory of her parent's home and a moment of the wedding day.
