Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's kids, Vivienne and Knox's 18th birthdays, will put an end to the once-power couple known as Brangelina for good.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been embroiled in a legal suit for a long time, which is widely known among their fans. For those unaware, it mainly concerns the actors’ share of the property after their divorce, which was finalised in December 2024. However, Brad and Angelina were also involved in a highly publicised, lengthy custody battle over their six children. And now, after two of their kids, Vivienne and Knox's upcoming birthdays, they will no longer be beholden to the residual custody agreement.
In just a couple of weeks, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's kids, Vivienne and Knox, will officially become adults. And after their 18th birthday on July 12, 2026, it will finally bring an end to the battle between their parents, which lasted for nearly a decade. Additionally, it will put an end to the once-power couple known as “Brangelina.” For those unaware, it all began in September 2016, when Angelina filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, just two years after their marriage. At the time, the actress alleged that she had faced torment at the hands of the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor.
They were also embroiled in a lengthy custody battle over the six children: Maddox, 24; Pax, 22; Zahara, 21; Shiloh, 19; and the twins, and Angelina Jolie reportedly never forgave Brad after the big blowout. Amid this, the twins' upcoming birthday will mark the end of their being beholden to the residual custody agreement, which had granted Brad Pitt the right to visit his minor children, even though his ex-wife had primary custody.
Recently, sources told Page Six that Brad Pitt has a “very limited” relationship with his six children with Angelina Jolie, especially since many of them no longer use his surname. Recently, on Thursday, May 28, 2026, his eldest son, Maddox, legally filed to drop “Pitt” from his name. The source revealed that “it's not a surprise” that the news was released on that day in particular, as just hours before, it was reported that Brad had bagged a “significant evidentiary victory” in his and Angelina's ongoing legal battle over Chateau Miraval, which the former couple had previously shared. As per the source, “Angelina has alienated the children from Brad,” especially “the ones she knew were particularly close to him.”
Another source familiar with the situation refuted this by claiming that Angelina had no intention to isolate her children from their father. The source also made sure to stress that they were not okay with the word “alienated” being used with children who had allegedly experienced the type of family drama that they did.
The majority of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's kids do not want to be associated with their father. This is evidenced by Maddox, Zahara, Vivienne, and Shiloh dropping ‘Pitt’ from their surname. Before this, many might not have been aware, but Pax, the couple's adopted son, had publicly slammed his father a few years ago. Notably, in 2020, Pax took to his social media to criticise Brad, claiming that he was responsible for making his family's life miserable. According to him, the actor was an “awful human being,” who had made his close people's lives a living hell. He wrote:
“You have made the lives of those closest to me a constant hell…The truth will come to light some day. Si Happy Father's Day, you f–king awful human being. You time and time again prove yourself to be a terrible and despicable person.”
