She had failed to appear in court related to a speeding citation. Now, according to a report by WBTV.com, Jen has taken legal steps to file a motion to recall the arrest order.
According to the report, Bill Belichick’s daughter-in-law, Jen, did not attend the court hearing as she had recently hired an attorney. She filed for a motion, and her attorney had explained that he had recently been retained. This was the reason Jen could not appear in court on July 10, 2026.
According to the reports the court had granted Jen the motion and reportedly a disposition hearing has been scheduled for September 25, 2026. Jen has been in legal soup from an incident traced back to May 21, 2026. The alleged traffic violation incident by Jen took place at Brunswick County.
The latest court filing has come just days after the arrest order, which has drawn national attention due to Jen's connection to former NFL head coach Bill. Jen reportedly was driving at a speed of 88 mph in a 70 mph zone. She was pulled over by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Netizens had mixed reactions to the same. A Redditor wrote, "Jen Belichick appears to be laughing off any concerns about being arrested for failing to show up to a mandatory court date. The daughter-in-law of the NFL great Bill Belichick, married to his son Stephen, who also serves as his defensive coordinator at UNC, was a no-show last Friday morning when she was due in court in Brunswick County."
Jen then missed appearing in court, and a Brunswick District Court judge back in North Carolina had issued an arrest warrant against her. For the unversed, Jen is married to Steve Belichick, who works as a defensive coordinator. Court records had also mentioned that Jen was tried to call but she could not be reached. Neither she nor her attorney has commented on the matter.
Bill's daughter-in-law, Jen had found herself in the limelight back in 2025. She had slammed Bill's current girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, for the way she interrupted in the middle when the coach was giving an interview to CBS Sunday Morning. What had happened was Bill had appeared to promote his book The Art of Winning.
During the interview, correspondent Tony Dokoupil had asked Belichick about his equation with Hudson. Before Belichick could answer Hudson stated, "We are not talking about this". The exchange had gone viral on social media, and Jen had shared her thoughts on the same. In Edelman's podcast Dudes on Dudes, Jen shared:
"Because she was jumping into that conversation during the interview just like any PR person would jump in when there’s an unnecessary question that probably [they] didn’t go over in the pre-production meeting.”
Jen had slammed the behaviour of Jordon during Bill's CBS interview. She was trying to interrupt the conversation and divert him away from certain topics. Some had seen her behavior as that of a publicist, but Jen had disagreed. She shared that publicists act in a professional manner and don’t ‘storm’ off set delaying. Earlier, CBS network had shared in a statement:
"When we agreed to speak with Mr. Belichick, it was for a wide-ranging interview. There were no preconditions or limitations to this conversation. This was confirmed repeatedly with his publisher before the interview took place and after it was completed.”
