Babita Shivdasani Kapoor, commonly known as Babita Kapoor is one of the superhit actresses, who quit acting when she was at the peak of her acting career. She made her acting debut back in 1966 with the film, Dus Lakh, in which she was paired opposite Sanjay Khan. However, it was in the year 1967 that she appeared in Ravindra Dave's Raaz, which shot her to fame.

It was her on-screen chemistry with the legendary actor, Rajesh Khanna that impressed everyone with her acting skills and screen presence. In the following years, she worked with a series of A-listed actors in superhit films like Farz, Haseena Maan Jayegi, Kismat, Ek Shriman Ek Shrimati, Doli, Kab? Kyoon? Aur Kahan?, Kal Aaj Aur Kal, Banphool, and many more.

Babita Kapoor left acting after her marriage with Randhir Kapoor

For the unversed, Babita Kapoor was born on April 20, 1947, in Karachi to a film family. Babita's father, Hari Shivdasani was an iconic Indian actor, who was renowned for his character roles. Not only this, Hari Shivdasani's elder brother's daughter, Sadhana Shivdasani was also a legendary actress, who needs no introduction. Considered as one of the finest actresses of her era, Sadhana is best known by her nickname, 'The Mystery Girl', which she got after being featured in Raj Khosla's trilogy.

Coming back to Babita Kapoor's acting career, she got married to Randhir Kapoor on November 6, 1971, after the release of their film, Kal Aaj Aur Kal. Although after her marriage to Randhir, she appeared in films like Jeet, Ek Hasina Do Diwane, and Sone Ke Haath, but all three of them weren't successful at the box office. As per multiple reports, Babita's decision to quit acting resulted from the Kapoor clan's rule that their bahus would not work in the film industry.

The reason why Neetu Kapoor stopped talking to Babita Kapoor

Babita Kapoor is one of the most sought-after members of the Kapoor clan, as she hardly makes it to the headlines or controversies. From living a low-key life with her daughters, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor, Babita prefers to live a life away from the media spotlight. However, there's one controversy related to Babita that is quite well-known in the corridors of the Indian film industry and it was the feud between Babita and Rishi Kapoor's wife, Neetu Kapoor.

It all started back in 1980 when Neetu Kapoor got married to Rishi Kapoor and became the bahu of the Kapoor clan. Things weren't too smooth between the bahus of the Kapoor clan, and a glimpse of it everyone witnessed at Karisma Kapoor's wedding with Sunjay Kapur on September 29, 2003. For the unversed, Neetu Kapoor didn't attend Karisma's wedding, and it irked the latter's mother, Babita, to a severe extent. As a result, Babita and her daughters, Karisma and Kareena remained absent from Neetu Kapoor's daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni's marriage with Bharat Sahni.

However, the rift took a major rise when Neetu Kapoor's mother, Rajee Singh passed away in 2009. All the members of the Kapoor clan were present at Neetu's residence to support and console her during her low phase. Babita Kapoor and her daughters, Kareena Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor's absence from the final rites of Neetu's mother created a rift among them. As per multiple reports, Neetu and Babita haven't talked for decades.

Kareena Kapoor's marriage resolved Neetu Kapoor and Babita Kapoor's decade-long rift

The years of cold war between Babita Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor ended on October 16, 2012, when they mended their ways. A source close to the Kapoor family confirmed that Neetu Kapoor had decided to attend Babita Kapoor's daughter, Kareena Kapoor's wedding to end their decade-long feud. The source stated, "Kareena's wedding served as the occasion for Babita to fix relationships. That included a friendly gesture towards estranged sister-in-law." The source further added that it was Babita, who took the first step as she went to Neetu's residence and invited her to Kareena's wedding. The source cited:

"Babita personally went to meet Neetu in Krishna Raj (Neetu and Rishi Kapoor's residence) with the wedding invite. Those who've known about the feud will realise what a big deal that is. It seems they have finally made peace."

In the beginning, reports of Neetu attending Kareena's wedding were treated as rumours, but soon, the former confirmed it by herself in a conversation with the media. She said:

"Kareena's wedding to Saif is a very happy occasion for the entire family. We're all excited about it and are definitely looking forward to it. It's a happy moment and we will all be there for it."

Since then, both daughters-in-law of the Kapoor clan have been on speaking terms, and we have seen them pose together repeatedly during family gatherings. We hope they continue to share this beautiful bond for years to come.
