Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleAmy Robach and T.J. Holmes are officially husband and wife. The wedding took place on Sept. 19, 2026, in Washington County, one day after they applied for the license. The county clerk’s office registered the document on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. Before marrying Holmes, Robach was married to actor Andrew Shue for 12 years and realized it wasn’t working out.
Amy Robach got married to Andrew Shue in 2010. She began working with T.J. Holmes in 2020, co-hosting the ABC news program GMA3: What You Need to Know. They grew close after spending extensive time together on assignment during the summer of 2022. When their relationship turned romantic, both Robach and Holmes were still legally married to other people.
Robach’s affair with Holmes became public in 2022 when paparazzi photos surfaced. The couple was spotted enjoying a steamy kiss in public. It sparked massive controversy and drew significant media attention. The pair's affair consequently cost them their jobs at ABC.
When Robach and Holmes’ affair became public, they were still married, but later they revealed that they were separated from their respective spouses. It was Robach’s cancer battle that made her realize that she didn’t want to continue her marriage with Andrew Shue.
Shue had been by Robach's side when she battled breast cancer from 2013 to 2014. However, Robach later stated in an interview with People that their marriage suffered during her treatment. Eight years later, Robach came to the heartbreaking conclusion that Shue was no longer the person she wanted by her side if she were to go through that battle again. On Amy and T.J. podcast, Robach said:
“I asked myself, if your cancer came back and you knew you had one year to live, how would you spend it? And it wasn't even close. I would spend it with T.J.”
Amy Robach and Andrew Shue finalized their divorce in March 2023. In September 2025, Robach and Holmes were engaged. On Amy and T.J. podcast, the former GMA3 star revealed her takeaways from her divorce in 2023. Sharing details about the same, she said:
“I've learned in 2023 that you can lose your job, you can lose your reputation, you can lose friends, and you can lose most of your worldly possessions.”
When T.J. asked Robach about her comment on losing ‘worldly possessions’, Amy elaborated by hinting at some of her struggles. She said, "There was a lot of selling going on." The 50-year-old also revealed that she uncovered a new side of her ex-husband during their breakup, adding: "I've learned you don't really know someone until you've divorced them."
When Robach and Holmes’ relationship became public, it sparked a scandal because they were already married to their respective spouses. However, in the same podcast, T.J. made it clear that their headline-making romance wasn't the scandal it was initially made out to be, since they had already quietly separated from their prospective partners. Robach backed T.J. and said:
“I took my ring off in early August. It was very clear to anyone who knew me that I was in the middle of a divorce."
