News of trouble in Alex Copper's paradise surfaced after she appeared on the red carpet with her husband, Matt Kalpan. She called it a strategy to hide her pregnancy.
Sometime back, rumours were rife that Alex Cooper's happily-ever-after had hit a rough patch after the couple were spotted keeping themselves away during a red carpet appearance. The internet, which is quick to judge every action, proudly concluded that the couple's marriage is in its last stage, but then, Alex surprised them with her pregnancy announcement. She revealed that it was a strategy to hide her pregnancy.
Well, some rumours are a boon for celebrities who want to keep their relationships and personal milestones away from the world. Alex Cooper is one of them who wanted to keep her pregnancy buzz hidden, like Kylie Jenner's pregnancy, who kept it away from the media till the birth of her daughter. But since she has a lot of public events to attend it wasn't possible for her. She said:
"The truth is my goal was to try to pull a Kylie Jenner. I really wanted to. just one day wanted to come on and announce like, ‘Oh, I had a baby.' But the unfortunate reality is that my job does require me to be seen either on my show or out at public events."
Alex further revealed that she told her husband, Matt, that she planned to keep the pregnancy away from the media glare till August or September. However, it didn't work. She shared that she had picked an outfit to hide her growing bump, but it didn't fit her. She had a mental breakdown on the red carpet as the buttons of her jacket popped out. Alex revealed that she had a lot to do as they were about to get late, and she wanted to make things work out.
Meanwhile, she also instructed her husband, Matt, on the way to the red carpet on how they were going to pose and act amid the whole situation. She told her husband that he needed to match her energy as they were going for business and had to keep it business professional and not casual, and he was all in for it and agreed to keep it serious and quick. She recalled:
"I said to Matt in the car, I said, ‘Look at me in the eyes right now. You need to match my energy. Okay? We are going business. We are going professional, business professional, not business casual, business professional.' He's like, ‘Okay, babe, sure. Whatever you say.' I'm like, ‘We're gonna keep it tight. We're gonna keep it serious. We're gonna keep it quick.'"
However, after the red carpet was over, the rumours were rife that Alex Cooper is having trouble in her paradise. Many claimed that their marriage was over. Some thought it to be an arranged setup with no spark. Meanwhile, Alex was celebrating and enjoying as there were no pregnancy rumours that made it to the news. It was a win for her as people kept judging their body language. She was quoted as saying:
"The only rumors that actually came from the carpet is just how miserable my husband and I looked. I said, ‘Babe, that is a win for a win for a win.' These people, you guys are dissecting Matt and my body language together on the carpet saying, ‘This this looks like an arranged marriage. Like, this relationship looks like a business deal.'"
Alex revealed that she was happy that their act suspended the baby talk; it was a win for her. At night, she and her husband held hands and were relieved that they could survive another day hiding their pregnancy.
