However, on the recent episode of Farah Khan’s reality show, the actress revealed that she was disappointed to see the Bigg Boss 19 winner as the guest. Currently, the statement is going viral on social media and Akanksha is facing backlash for the same.
A few episodes ago, Gaurav Khanna entered the Lock Upp 2 house. During the same, the Anupamaa actor seemed shocked by Akanksha’s divorce announcement. The estranged couple spoke about their separation. Well, now, in the recent episode, Akanksha opened up about his visit and revealed that she was disappointed by it.
Towards the end of the episode, Akanksha Chamola was seen having a conversation with Shreya Kalra and Shilpa Shinde. When Shreya highlighted how she got to meet her husband, Akanksha quickly responded by saying that it was her 'ex' who entered as a special guest. Further, she stated that even Varun Yadav pointed it out and told Akanksha, “Teri family kaha, tera toh stranger aaya tha milne.” Akanksha added:
"Actually yaar usse (Gaurav Khanna) zyada agar koi meri family se aata toh better hota. I wanted my comfort na. It was basically more for him than for me. I would have preferred agar meri mummy ya papa aate. Ya mera kutta hi aa jata."
Her statement instantly went viral on social media and netizens couldn’t stop talking about it. While some supported and defended her, the majority of the viewers didn’t find it right and targeted her for taking a dig at Gaurav Khanna, even though he might be the reason she got the reality show.
One user on X (formerly Twitter) commented, "She forgot to admit that she is on Netflix only because of Gaurav, also divorce wala bola hi then y c didn't say it's finalized in May, because many thought it's from 1 year, it's good he came and cleared it." Another user wrote, "Today she took Gaurav’s name and she got the screentime of 30 sec.. otherwise, she would have been invisible just like other episodes." A third user penned, "She compared Gaurav Khanna with a dog. GK should not come to the show to support Akanksha."
Despite this, some users defended her as well. One fan shared, "I mean fair enough, it was clear GK entered for his image cleansing!" Another user penned, "I'm glad she said this gaurav ne aake use bass sunaaya hi hai." A third user commented, "GK is very self centered guy he always think about him only even after entering house he was worried about him and his image only. He was least concerned about her image, her stance, her wish, even when she was crying he was not bothered."
Ever since Akanksha Chamola revealed her separation from Gaurav Khanna, a lot of fans and celebrities have come in support of him. Multiple fans felt that Akanksha only shared details about their separation for TRP. Apart from this, a close friend of Gaurav named Anuj Sachdev shared that he was completely unaware of the divorce.
As per Anuj, Gaurav did not expect Akanksha to reveal such a big thing on national television without proper conversation with him. For the unversed, Anuj had said, "When Akanksha says that she's now going to explore life, it sounds as if she was caged in marriage with Gaurav. Not at all. Gaurav really loved her a lot and gave her all that she wanted."
