Since the past few days, the drama has intensified even since Shilpa Shinde entered as a wild-card. Well now, Akanksha, who recently opened up about being bisexual, supported the Bigg Boss 11 winner for filing a false sexual harassment case against the producer of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, Sanjay Kohli.
Shilpa Shinde’s entry as a wild-card contestant re-ignited a lot of conversations on social media. Multiple fans felt that she was offered the show only because of the backlash she faced for filing a fake harassment complaint against a producer. Well, in the recent episode of Lock Upp 2, Gaurav Khanna’s wife, Akanksha Chamola defended her decision.
In the latest episode, when Riteish asked everyone’s opinion on the false case, almost everyone slammed Shilpa Shinde, except Akanksha Chamola. While everyone felt that Shilpa’s false accusations could have ended someone’s career, Akanksha called her helpless. She was quoted as saying:
"Being a woman mujhe aisa lagta hain ki kahi na kahi woh woman itni helpless hogi ki shayad usko yahi zariya dikh raha hoga."
Further, Akanksha Chamola explained that she is not defending Shilpa Shinde’s actions. However, she mentioned that the Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain actress might have felt cornered. Akanksha Chamola also stated that now everything seems to be good, because the actress is still working with the same producer. In her words:
"I am not supporting what she has done, but I am just trying to face the fact that ap agar bohot badey insaan se larr rahe ho aur koi bhi topic pe lad rahe ho, aur ap dekh rahe ho ki uske paas usse jyada hold hain over everything else, toh maybe she was cornered. Because whatever said and done, she is still working now with the same producer."
It is worth noting that Akanksha Chamola defending Shilpa Shinde surprised all the viewers, as the latter took a brutal dig at the former in the latest episode. Shilpa called out Akanksha and revealed that she is in a reality show only because of her husband, Gaurav Khanna. For the unversed, a few months ago, Gaurav won Bigg Boss 19. Shilpa shared, "Main usko bola woh Gaurav ke vajah se aayi hain. Maine kaha usko kabhi dekha tha?"
Soon after the episode aired on Netflix, netizens were quick to slam Akanksha Chamola for defending such a horrible act by Shilpa Shinde. One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, "Sorry but Akansha Chamola lost all the aura points she gained after speaking in favour of Shilpa Shinde." Another user wrote, "Chamola trying to justify Shinde’s fake allegations by saying she must’ve had some compulsion behind it was so off putting. But I guess one liar is naturally going to sympathize with another liar’s fake allegations." A third user shared, "Chamola, sorry girl you lost me with that defence."
For the unversed, the matter began in 2016, when Shilpa Shinde exited Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, the production house accused her of being unprofessional. In her defense, Shilpa called out the makers for not paying her dues and filed a sexual harassment complaint against the producer. Eventually, the issue was settled outside the court. However, in a conversation with Bharti Singh and her husband, she revealed that the harassment case was false because she felt that there was no other option left for her. She faced intense hatred for this decision on social media.
