Konkana Sen Sharma has returned with yet another gripping story. For the unversed, Accused premiered on Netflix on February 27, 2026, and is generating a lot of buzz because of its through-provoking narrative. The film revolves around a gynaecologist, 'Dr. Geetika', who is accused of misconduct. Read on to know how the film ends.
The film opens in London, with 'Dr. Geetika' (played by Konkona Sen Sharma), who is a respected and successful gynaecologist. She is known for her discipline, efficiency and leadership. 'Geetika' is all set to become the Dean of the hospital. In her personal life, she lives with her fiancee, 'Dr. Meera' (played by Pratibha Ranta) and the two are planning to adopt a child. Everything seems normal and stable, until 'Geetika' is called into the HR office.
'Dr. Geetika's' entire life changes when the HR receives an anonymous email accusing 'Geetika' of se*ual misconduct during a medical examination. This sparks an immediate investigation and asks 'Geetika' to go on a paid leave. On the other hand, 'Dr. Geetika' strongly denies such accusations; however, before she can process things, more emails begin to arrive. Slowly and gradually, she starts losing the reputation she built over the years. Her promotion is also paused.
As the Netflix film moves forward, the hospital appoints 'Dr. Bhargav' to investigate the matter. He starts questioning the staff, patients and employees and finds out shocking things about 'Geetika'. Through his investigation, viewers get to know that 'Geetika' is strict and emotionally distant. Staff members used to feel pressured while working under her. Several staff members had even resigned during her leadership. However, what shocks everyone is that 'Geetika' was romantically involved with a junior doctor named 'Natasha'.
Later, apart from multiple anonymous emails, one former colleague, 'Dr. Carol' comes face-to-face and accuses 'Geetika'. She reveals that 'Geetika' tried to make advances toward her and eventually fired her. However, 'Geetika' denied all accusations and explained that 'Dr. Carol' was fired due to medical negligence. 'Geetika' admitted that she had invited 'Carol' to a hotel, but only for a correction in the suspension letter.
Apart from professional accusations, 'Geetika's' personal life also begins to shatter. 'Meera' feels confused and hurt. Later, when she is unable to trust 'Geetika', she hires a private detective, who discovers that 'Geetika' has been secretly meeting her ex, 'Sophie'. When 'Meera' confronts 'Geetika', she reveals that she met 'Sophie' to take help from her cousin, 'David' to find out about the emails. Eventually, it is revealed that someone was trying to frame 'Geetika'.
Towards the end of the film, it is revealed that one of 'Geetika's' colleagues, 'Dr. Logan' hired 'David' to send those emails and frame 'Geetika'. Later, when 'Bhargav' asks 'Dr. Coral' to record her statement, she too backs out and withdraws her complaint. Eventually, 'Geetika' is cleared of all accusations and the hospital offers her the Dean position.
However, 'Geetika' refuses the position, but accepts her mistakes. She reveals that even though she did not commit any se*ual misconduct, she misused her power. She apologised to everyone. Later, she also met 'Meera' and apologised to her for being arrogant and emotionally distant. 'Meera' forgives her and they start again from the beginning.
