However, at first glance, netizens mistook Kris for her daughter, Kim Kardashian.
A while back, Kris Jenner shared a carousel from a recent Shanghai trip with her daughter, Khloe Kardashian, on her Instagram handle. Sharing the wholesome pictures from the trip, Kris captioned this as "Giraffes, Minnie ears, and my favorite people. Shanghai, you were amazing!" However, after seeing the pictures, many fans thought Kris was actually Kim at first glance. Several people commented that Kris looked exactly like Kim, who is half her age. Kim is currently 45.
A user wrote, "At first glance I thought this was Kim and Khloe!" Another user commented, "Shut up… I totally thought that was @kimkardashian and @khloekardashian until I read the post… @krisjenner looking amazing." A third user shared, "Not me thinking Kris was Kim at first glance." Kris, Kim, Khloe, and the rest of the family became famous through their reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which ran from 2007 to 2021. Later, the family continued their reality-TV journey with The Kardashians.
Earlier, in 2021, Kris revealed in an interview that whenever she gets stuck in a crisis, she dials up Kim. For those unaware, Kris has four children, Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and Rob Kardashian from her marriage to Robert Kardashian, and Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner from her marriage to Caitlyn Jenner.
In the same interview, Kim mentioned that her mom, Kris, taught her to have a strong work ethic. She admired the way Kris enjoyed herself while still being organized and responsible. Kim also remembered that Kris was a strict mother about discipline and work. At the same time, Kim said that Kris was fun and enjoyable when the family spent time together.
The year 2026 has been a tough time for Kris, as she lost her mother, Mary Jo 'MJ' Shannon. For those unaware, Mary died at 91 on July 16, 2026, just days before what would have been her 92nd birthday. According to the death certificate, Kris Jenner’s mom died of acute cardiopulmonary arrest. A copy of the certificate obtained by US Weekly stated that acute respiratory failure and metastatic lung cancer also contributed to Mary’s death.
Kris paid an emotional tribute to her mom and expressed her grief. She called Mary the 'heart of the family'. She mentioned that Mary taught her that family is everything and showed her how to love unconditionally and how to find joy in the little moments.
