Gurucharan Singh, popular for portraying the role of ‘Roshan Singh Sodhi’ in the sitcom, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah, has been missing for four days. According to reports, the actor went to Delhi a few days back to celebrate his father’s birthday and was scheduled to return to Mumbai on April 22, 2024. However, he did not reach the city and has disappeared.
Gurucharan’s sudden disappearance has left everyone worried, and his father has even lodged a mission person’s complaint. In the report, it has been mentioned that his 50-year-old son left home at 8:30 am to catch his flight, but he has neither reached Mumbai nor returned home. The statement can be read as:
“My son Gurucharan Singh, Age: 50 years, had left at 8:30 am on April 22nd to go to Mumbai. He went to the airport to catch a flight. He didn’t reach Mumbai, neither has he returned home and his phone is not reachable. He is mentally stable and we had been searching for him but now he has been missing!”

Meanwhile, Gurucharan’s friend, Ms. Soni spoke with Pinkvilla and revealed that his phone has been switched off since April 24, 2024. She also added that she tried filing a report in Mumbai, but as he did not return to the city, the complaint could be lodged. She further mentioned that Gurucharan was not keeping well for quite some time. In her words:
“His parents are worried and have filed a missing report in Delhi. I tried to file one in Mumbai as well, however, since he hasn’t returned back a complaint cannot be filed here. Gurucharan ji’s health also hasn’t been keeping well for the last many days, so I am worried about that. Before leaving for Delhi, his blood pressure was high and he had undergone a few tests as well. He wasn’t even eating much before he left for Delhi. I really hope and pray that he is fine, and returns back safe and sound.”

Gurucharan Singh played the role of a fun-loving ‘Roshan Singh Sodhi’, who loved to party and never shied away from expressing love for his wife. However, the actor left the show once in 2013 only to return the next year due to the audience’s demand. But he quit the show in 2020 once and for all. Back in 2021, the actor opened up about exiting TMKOC during an interview with ETimes. He had said that his father underwent surgery around the same time and he also had to take care of some things in his life.
There were rumours that Gurucharan left the show due to a payment delay, but he did not disclose much about this matter. Moreover, when he was questioned if he wished to return to the show, he said that he left everything to God and that only if the supreme lord wished would he return to the show. In his words:
“Hum pyaar mohabbat se aage badhna pasand karna chahte hain. There are some other reasons I don’t want to talk about. God knows, I don’t know. Agar rab ki marzi hogi toh (If God wishes) I will return. But nothing as such for now. Last time too, I hadn’t expected or planned, it just happened.”
