Salman Khan is one of the most popular and sought-after actors in Bollywood. Hailed as Bhaijaan, the superstar rules a million hearts for his humble persona and exceptional acting prowess. While his professional life needs no introduction, Salman has often hit the headlines for his personal life as well. The actor grabbed the limelight for many controversies over the years, and one of them is his ugly spat with Ranbir Kapoor.
Ranbir Kapoor is also a renowned name in the Hindi film industry and belongs to the esteemed Kapoor clan. There is no denying that Ranbir dated Salman's ex-girlfriend, Katrina Kaif, which soured his relationship with the superstar. However, not many know that Salman and Ranbir had an ugly encounter once in the past, even before the Animal actor got into a relationship with Katrina. The situation got so out of hand that Bhaijaan got into a tiff with Ranbir and allegedly slapped him.

Ranbir Kapoor made his acting debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film, Saawariya, opposite Sonam Kapoor, in 2007. The film also had Salman Khan's cameo. According to a report in India Today, Salman once met Ranbir at a posh pub, accompanied by Sanjay Dutt. During the party, the duo indulged in a long-running war of words. Salman lost his temper over the matter, and the argument got intense. The superstar allegedly lost his cool and slapped Ranbir in the face. At this point, Sanjay, along with some other friends, intervened and stopped the fight then and there. Ranbir was so embarrassed about the incident that he left the pub after that.
The following morning, Salman Khan's father, Salim Khan reportedly went to Ranbir's house and apologised to Rishi Kapoor, offering a peace treaty. However, the chasm between Salman and Ranbir remained thereafter, and the duo could never see face-to-face. Things got worse when Ranbir got into a romantic relationship with Katrina Kaif, as she was the only woman whom Salman truly loved apart from his mother and sisters. Since Katrina was madly in love with Ranbir, Salman tolerated the latter's presence in her life. However, after Ranbir broke up with her, Salman's hatred towards the former multiplied.

Later, during his appearance on Rajat Sharma’s talk show, Aap Ki Adalat, Salman Khan talked about an incident, where he mentioned that he once ripped off a tag on Ranbir Kapoor’s sleeves. The superstar added that he didn't know that it was a style statement and thought that Ranbir forgot to take the tag off. However, Salman did not reveal anything about his infamous fight with RK, where he had hit the latter, and Sanjay Dutt had to intervene to stop the fight.
On Eid 2024, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt paid a surprise visit to Salman Khan’s flat at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, Mumbai. For the visit, Alia Bhatt looked stunning in an all-white floral-printed ethnic suit and opted for minimal makeup. Ranbir, on the other hand, looked dapper in a blue denim shirt paired with a grey t-shirt and jeans. The power couple was seen posing for a picture with one of Bhaijaan's staff. Though Salman was nowhere to be seen in the photo, Ranbir's visit to the former's house proved that the duo had patched up.
