Saira Banu and the late Dilip Kumar are hailed as the power couple of Bollywood. The legendary actors have set a standard for couples with their love and care for each other. For the unversed, Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu first met each other when the latter was just a 12-year-old girl, who was a die-heart fan of the legendary actor. Later, the lovebirds got married in 1966, despite having an age gap of 22 years. It was on July 7, 2021, when Dilip Kumar left for the heavenly abode leaving Saira Banu alone. And now, after 2 years of his demise, Saira has started a new chapter in her life by making her social media debut.
On August 12, 2023, Saira Banu took to her Instagram handle and dropped two unseen pictures of her husband, the late Dilip Kumar with Dharmendra. In the first picture, young Dharmendra can be seen lovingly hugging Dilip Kumar. The two great stars of Bollywood looked amazing as they happily posed for the camera. Sharing the monochrome picture, Saira penned a long note and talked about Dharmendra's bond with Dilip Kumar. She also revealed how Dharmendra travelled to Mumbai to meet the veteran actor after watching his film, Shaheed. In her words:
"In 1952, Dharmendra Ji travelled from Ludhiana, Punjab, to Bombay, after seeing 'Shaheed', which touched a deep emotional chord within him. He definitely wanted to meet Dilip Sahib whose acting had set him on fire. Right after he arrived in Bombay, he boldly took the step of looking for Sahib's house at Bandra, Pali Mala."

Further, in her note, Saira revealed how Dharmendra entered Dilip Kumar's home without being stopped by anyone. She also added that Dharmendra got frozen upon seeing Dilip Kumar sleeping peacefully on the sofa. He was in total disbelief as he saw his idol in front of him. Saira then revealed that six years later, Dharmendra met Dilip Kumar and the former treated him like his elder brother. Recalling the incident, Saira said that Dilip Kumar offered his sweater to Dharmendra, who was shivering with cold.
Saira shared another picture of Dharmendra and Dilip Kumar. In the picture, Dharmendra can be seen holding Dilip Kumar's hand. Sharing the same, the veteran actress then recalled another lesser-known anecdote between Dharmendra and Dilip Kumar. She revealed that before the launch of his son, Sunny Deol, Dharmendra reached their home at midnight to show the film, Betaab's poster to Dilip Sahib. In her words:
"I remember one night before the mahurat launch of Sunny's film 'Betaab', Dharam Ji reached Sahib's house at midnight and went upstairs, spreading Sunny's huge photographs on display for him to see, and then sheepishly disclosed that the heroine was Nasir Bhai's and Begum Para's relative Amrita Singh. He encouraged Dharam JI and made him feel at home in the wee hours of that morning!"

Saira also revealed that Dharmendra has a photograph of Dilip Kumar in his house. She also mentioned that Dharmendra used to tell her that she was his competition for the love of Dilip Kumar. Elaborating more on it, Saira wrote:
"Dharam Ji never worked with Sahib except when he made a brief appearance in Paari. This is the only photograph I have in my house which I see every day besides the photographs of my parents and my sons. Dharam Ji said, When I was working with Saira, I used to tell her jokingly, I am in competition with Saira for the love of Yusuf Sahib!"
