However, after one year of their engagement, Rashmika and Rakshit called off their engagement, citing some compatibility issues between them. But they share a cordial bond.

However, the broken engagement of her daughter, Rashmika Mandanna has reportedly disturbed her mom, Suman Mandanna. As per a report by India Today, Suman had once reacted to Rashmika and Rakshit's broken engagement. If the reports are to be believed, Suman stated that they were utterly disturbed and had been trying to recover from the situation. She also mentioned that every individual's life comes first, and everybody should be happy. Suman Mandanna could be quoted as saying:
"We are disturbed and on the path to recovery. For every individual, his life comes first. Nobody likes to hurt each other and everybody should be happy.”
As per an old report by Koimoi, a source close to the actress revealed to another portal that it was Rashmika Mandanna's decision to call off her engagement. The source mentioned that it was indeed a tough decision on the actress' part, and she consulted the same with her parents, family members, and friends.

The source also added that the actress had been trying hard to overcome this emotional setback, and she wanted to cement her name in the Telugu and Kannada film industries, from where she had been getting a whole lot of opportunities. The source could be quoted as saying:
"Rashmika made the decision after consulting with her parents, family elders and friends. It was a tough decision to make, but she is showing a lot of character in overcoming this personal and emotional setback. She has been receiving some exciting offers in Telugu and Kannada, and wants to cement her place in both the industries.”
Rakshit Shetty and Rashmika Mandanna were one of the most loved couples in showbiz. It was during their film, Kirik Party when the duo came close to one another, and soon after that, they ended up developing feelings. Following the same, Rakshit and Rashmika got engaged in a dreamy ceremony. It was only after one year of their engagement in September 2018 that they announced their separation.
However, last year, during the promotional event of his film, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello: Side B, Rakshit was asked about his ex-fiancee, Rashmika. Talking about the same, he added that they both are in touch with each other. Rakshit also heaped praises on Rashmika and mentioned that the actress had big dreams in the industry and she has been proving her mettle in the same. Sharing that everyone should support and appreciate the actress, Rakshit mentioned:
"Yes, Rashmika and I are still in touch. She had a big dream in the world of cinema. Accordingly, she is moving towards that dream. She has the will to achieve the task she set out to do. We should pat her on the back for her achievement.”
