Ranbir Kapoor Had Once Predicted Imran Khan's Sudden Exit From Films At The Peak Of His Career

Imran Khan is one such actor, who can be broadly described as a one-film wonder. Nephew of Bollywood’s perfectionist, Aamir Khan, Imran made his debut as a child actor in the films like, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander. However, it was in 2008, when he gained massive success with the coming-of-the-age rom-com, Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, which bagged him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut the same year. Thereafter, Imran established himself within the chocolate boy era and became a part of some popular films. But Imran gradually faded out from the world of cinema completely, as he chose to step down from his acting spree at the peak of his career.

When Ranbir Kapoor predicted Imran Khan’s early exit from films at the peak of career

Back in one of the older seasons of the chat show, Koffee With Karan, Imran Khan had graced the couch along with his then-contemporary, Ranbir Kapoor. The two of them spoke about their distinct career graphs in the show. However, at one point during the show, Ranbir Kapoor had described Imran in a way that actually became predictive of his career’s future. Well, Ranbir hinted at Imran’s possibility of leaving his career mid-way due to disinterest and mentioned:

“You know, he also seems like someone who, at the peak of their career, would probably leave it. You know, if he just wasn’t interested.”

When Imran Khan recalled taking steroids after being tagged as ‘too skinny’ in the industry

After taking a long break from films, Imran Khan has recently been dropping a few hints about the possibility of making a comeback to films. Earlier, on October 6, 2023, the actor took to his IG handle and dropped two throwback pictures of himself. While in the first picture, the actor showed off his bare body and appeared quite skinny, the next picture featured Imran building his muscles. Along with them, he penned a note as he described how he was termed as skinny, as a result of which he built his body with the help of steroids. An excerpt of his note can be read as:

“I was convinced that I was too skinny, which is why Jai mostly wears two layers of clothing throughout Jaane Tu. For my next film, Kidnap, I hit the gym in earnest, and began my journey with body building. Over the next few years, the sculpting and maintenance of my body became part of my lifestyle. I worked out regularly, but still I would hear "So... you'll bulk up a bit before we start shooting, right?"; "You're looking weak", "You look like a little boy, not a man", and "The heroine looks bigger than you" (ouch for both of us!)."
