Physics Wallah Private Limited, popularly known as PhysicsWallah or PW, is one of the biggest Indian educational technology companies, which is headquartered in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The company was founded back in 2016 as a YouTube Channel by Alakh Pandey, who is a dedicated educator from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.
After seeing the tremendous growth of his YouTube channel, it was in 2020 when Alakh Pandey, along with Prateek Maheshwari expanded their educational offerings by developing an app. The application was tailored for students aspiring to take competitive exams like the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Exam (JEE).

Since the inception of its app, Physics Wallah has seen exponential growth as a company and as of now, it provides courses covering a wide range of subjects, including School Prep, JEE, NEET, GATE, SSC, UPSC, PSC, NDA, CA Foundation, CA Intermediate, CSIR NET, IIT JAM, MBA, NEET PG, and CUET. The company is renowned among students for delivering quality education. As per reports, the Physics Wallah app has been downloaded over 10 million times as of January 2023.
Alakh Pandey was born in October 1991 and had his early education in Prayagraj. During his growing up years, his family wasn’t financially sound, and at a young age, in order to support his family, he started teaching students.
On the education front, Alakh achieved an impressive rank in the Uttar Pradesh State Combined Entrance Examination (UPSCEE), which led to his admission at Harcourt Butler Technical Institute (HBTI) in Kanpur. Alakh pursued a mechanical engineering course at the college.
However, Alakh Pandey was dissatisfied with the academic curriculum and decided to drop out of his fourth year of B.Tech. Returning to his hometown in Prayagraj, it was in 2016 when Alakh's journey with Physics Wallah began. He launched the YouTube channel with the name Physics Wallah. The channel aimed to simplify physics concepts and make them accessible to students.
Driven by his passion for teaching and his desire to provide quality education, Alakh Pandey's Physics Wallah channel gained popularity over time. His dedication to help students understand complex concepts in a simplified manner resonated with youngsters nationwide. Within a short period, the channel became a significant resource for aspiring students preparing for various competitive exams.
Alakh Pandey is happily married to his wife, Shivani Dubey. The couple’s love story is straight out of a film. For the unversed, Alakh and Shivani met through a mutual friend. Their first meeting took place at Alakh’s friend's office. During their first meeting, Shivani was unaware of the fact that Alakh was the co-founder and CEO of Physics Wallah.
However, as the day progressed, Shivani Dubey contacted Alakh Pandey and asked him about his name, identity and profession. It was at that moment when Alakh told her that he was the name behind Physics Wallah. On the same day, when Alakh was busy designing T-shirts for his students, it was Shivani, who stepped in and helped him. It was at that moment Alakh realised that he had found his soulmate in Shivani. For the unversed, Shivani is a freelance journalist by profession. Talking about her educational background, she has done MSc in Chemistry.
Other than their mutual feelings for each other, Alakh Pandey and Shivani Dubey were extremely serious and passionate about their respective professions, which was another factor that brought them close.

After being in a relationship for nearly two years, Alakh Pandey and Shivani Dubey got engaged in May 2022. The couple exchanged rings in an intimate ceremony. However, it was on February 22, 2023, when Alakh and Shivani tied the marital knot.

Not everyone is aware of the fact that Physics Wallah’s co-founder and CEO, Alakh Pandey went through two heartbreaks before finally meeting his soulmate, Shivani Dubey. The educator fell in love with Muslim women, one after the other. Alakh had marriage plans with both his first and second girlfriends. But his parents were against his decision to go for an inter-caste marriage. After his two heartbreaks, he decided not to marry anyone. But it was Shivani, who made him believe in love all over again.
Alakh Pandey’s company, Physics Wallah is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the EdTech industry. With his company's valuation to be around a whopping sum of Rs. 4,000 crores, Alakh has built an impressive net worth of Rs. 100 crores.
