Television actress, Pankhuri Awasthy and her husband, Gautam Rode, embraced parenthood with the arrival of their twin babies on July 25, 2023. The actress has been enjoying the best phase of her life with her twins. Recently, Pankhuri sat for a chit-chat session with Rubina Dilaik for her talk show, Kisi Ne Bataya Nahi, and revealed that she faced a setback during her first pregnancy. She was left so scared that she decided to chant the Hanuman Chalisa, which worked as a saviour.
Talking to Rubina, Pankhuri revealed that during the first trimester, she was shooting and one day, she came back with excruciating pain in her lower abdomen. However, she thought it might be one of pregnancy symptoms. But the next day when she woke up in the morning, she went to the bathroom and saw blood. She immediately started crying thinking that she had a miscarriage. Pankhuri was quoted as saying:
"I was shooting in Naigaon. So when I came back, I had excruciating pain in my lower abdomen. Sometimes in pregnancy you are constipated also so I thought its maybe that. I wokeup the next morning around 6 AM. I went to the loo and I see blood. Immediately there was a setback and I immediately started crying because that means only one thing during pregnancy."

Pankhuri further revealed that she woke up her husband, Gautam, and asked him to call the doctor after talking to him. Her doctor advised her to cancel her shoot and lie down on the bed. He later asked her to visit him after 5 hours. Recalling the heart-wrenching moment, Pankhuri revealed that she was so scared that she decided to recite Hanuman Chalisa and kept the phone and kept reciting it until it was time to visit the doctor. She said:
"We did not inform about this to anyone. I just lied down. One thing that I do is Hanuman Chalisa. So I decided to do like a 100 or atleast 50 hanuman chalisa. I was lying down, I put the hanuman chalisa on my tummy and kept reciting it. Gautam fell asleep in between, but I kept doing it until it was the time to reach.''
Pankhuri revealed that after they visited the doctor, he examined her and said that he couldn't congratulate the couple. While Pankhuri made sure not to react, the doctor joked that he could not congratulate them because he has to wish them twice as it was a twin pregnancy.
Pankhuri Awasthy's announced that she was carrying twin babies during her baby shower. And the theme of the bash was dedicated to her twin babies. Pankhuri's baby shower had green decor with a giant board decorated with balloons. On it was written, "One plus one makes four times the fun."
