Masaba Gupta is a force to reckon in the fashion industry. The self-made designer has cemented her name and works amongst some of the most talented stalwarts of fashion designing. From red carpet events to weddings and photoshoots, Masaba has enthralled everyone with her versatile creations, reflected by her selective muse from across the leading celebrities of the country. Apart from her expertise in designing, she also ventured into acting with the docu-series based on her life, Masaba Masaba. In her personal life, she is married to actor, Satyadeep Mishra.
For the unversed, Masaba Gupta is the daughter of Bollywood actress, Neena Gupta and West Indian cricketer, Vivian Richards. Though the couple weren’t married, they had their daughter out of wedlock. Moreover, while Vivian didn’t want to take responsibility of the child back then, and get married to the actress, Masaba was thereby single-handedly raised by her mother, Neena.

In a previous interview with The Indian Express, Masaba Gupta opened up about her take on motherhood. She revealed that despite the concept of single-parenting being modern and that it is normalised to have a child out of wedlock, she would never want to do so herself. Adding how she would never want to put her child in that pressurised spot, Masaba expressed:
“Being a modern woman, do I have the guts to have a baby out of wedlock? Never. I don’t want to take that extra pressure, and put a child in that space.”
Continuing with her line of thought, Masaba Gupta talked about her own case, since she too, was born out of wedlock. The fashion designer remarked how she has been frequently tagged as being ‘too modern’ for the same. Nevertheless, she added that despite being considered modern, there is still a sense of non-acceptance of such norms in the country. Calling the current society as intolerant, she added:
“I have been tagged as too modern for being born out of wedlock. Honestly, it’s wonderful to be modern, but there’s no size that fits everyone. I think the responsibility of being modern is to be accepted. However, we have become more intolerant. I think we are going back in time.”
On April 18, 2024, Masaba Gupta took to her IG handle and announced the most beautiful news of her life. The fashionista revealed that she is expecting her first child with her hubby, Satyadeep Mishra. Ditching the usual maternity photoshoots or even flaunting her baby bump, the fashion designer simply assembled a few emojis, one of a pregnant woman and the other of a man and a woman emoji with lovestruck faces. The third frame captured the couple sitting on the floor of their home. Along with it, Masaba penned a witty caption that can be read as:
“In other news - Two little feet are on their way to us! Please send love, blessings and banana chips ( plain salted ONLY) #babyonboard #momanddad."

For the unversed, Masaba Gupta was previously married to filmmaker, Madhu Mantena. However, they parted ways in September 2019. Around four years later, Masaba got hitched for the second time to actor, Satyadeep Mishra, on January 27, 2023. The couple opted for an intimate ceremony, attended by their close friends and family members. The bride and groom, who had a court marriage, twinned in shades of pastel pink for their grand day.
