Dhanush is one of the most talented actors in the Indian film industry. The actor has been winning hearts with his acting prowess throughout his entire acting career. Talking about his personal life, Dhanush got married to Rajinikanth’s daughter, Aishwaryaa, in 2004. The duo used to be one of the much-loved couples in showbiz. They are also parents to their adorable kids, Yatra and Linga. However, it was back in 2022, when Dhanush and Aishwaryaa left their entire fanbase heartbroken when they announced their separation. Moreover, reports have been rife that the ex-couple has already decided to officiate their divorce. And now, another report shared some anecdotes about the same, including who would possibly get the custody of the two kids.
As per a recent report by News18, a source close to Dhanush and Aishwaryaa has shared that the ex-couple has filed their divorce in Chennai. The source stated that Aishwaryaa and Dhanush have been living separately since the time they announced their separation and finally decided to move on with their lives, hence the divorce. As per the source, there will be no fight in the court, as they have accepted the turn of events in their lives and amicably decided to get a divorce. The source can be quoted as saying:
"They have officially filed for a divorce in Chennai. They have not been staying together since separation, and were focusing on healing from the split. Now, they have felt the need to move on in life, which is why they have filed for a divorce. There is not going to be a fight in court for divorce, or any mud slinging. They both have made peace with the turn of events in their life, and accepted that they can’t be together. They have respect for each other. It’s going to be an amicable process."

As per the same source, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa have been co-parenting their sons on a cordial level, and the primary custody of the little ones may go to Aishwaryaa first, but Dhanush will not be contesting the same. According to the same, the ex-couple has always been there with their kids, and they are in constant discussion with the little ones to help them go through this tough phase. The source stated:
"They are co-parenting their sons on a cordial level. However, the primary custody is expected to go to Aishwaryaa, and Dhanush is not contesting it. That being said, he is always there for his kids. At the moment, the estranged couple is involved in active discussions with their kids to help them sail the divorce process smoothly."
It was back in January 2022, when taking to their social media handles, Aishwaryaa and Dhanush announced their separation. In a picture note, they stated that they had decided to end their 18-year marital life. Announcing the same, Aishwaryaa and Dhanush asked their fans for privacy.
Earlier, reports also suggested that Aishwaryaa and Dhanush would opt for reconciliation. However, another report by the Hindustan Times revealed that there was no chance for the duo to reconcile and they have accepted their fates and moved on in their lives. However, the same report also mentioned that although the couple had yet to announce their divorce, they would do the same when one of them would want to re-marry.

During one of her old interviews, Aishwaryaa made a rare comment about her ex-husband, Dhanush. When she was asked about her contribution to helping her cousin and music compers, Anirudh Ravichander and Aishwaryaa credited the same to Dhanush and mentioned it was the latter who recognised the composer's talents.
