Deepika Padukone is one of the most A-listed divas of her generation in Bollywood. With her charismatic personality, exceptional talents and drop-dead gorgeous looks, she has been ruling the hearts of millions. However, it is often that her personal life which has garnered a lot of limelight than her professional achievements. For the unversed, Deepika is married to the love of her life, Ranveer Singh. But time and again, it is her past relationships that often grab the spotlight. Well, before marrying Ranveer, Deepika dated quite a few men, including Ranbir Kapoor, Siddharth Mallya, Yuvraj Singh.
Back in the day, Deepika Padukone was in a tumultuous relationship with businessman, Vijay Mallya’s son, Siddharth Mallya. While the exact timeline of the start of their relationship is not known, the duo was frequently spotted together at IPL matches, dinner dates and other events, igniting their dating rumours. While they never really spoke up about their relationship, it was their shocking accusations against one another that caught their attention. For instance, during their public spat, Siddharth once tagged Deepika as a crazy woman and revealed how the latter never returned expensive things that she churned from him. He had mentioned:
“Deepika is a crazy female; I told her that I’ll return her money once dad clears his debts and the government sets him free, but she was just not ready to settle down. She has forgotten the time I gifted her with expensive diamonds, luxurious bags, have spent huge on her vacations and hosted parties for her friends on her behalf.”

In retrospect, Deepika too, didn’t mince her words and revealed an incident from her dating diaries with Siddharth, which absolutely disgusted her. The diva mentioned how he asked her to pay the bill for their dinner date, which she felt disgusted and embarrassed to do. In her words:
“I tried hard to make the relationship work, but his behaviour in recent times has been disgusting. The last time we met on a dinner date, he asked me to pay the bill. That was so embarrassing for me.”
Well, while they might’ve ended their relationship on an ugly note, there was a time when Siddharth once heaped praises on the kind of work Deepika had done. In a previous interaction with The Times Of India, Siddharth praised Deepika’s contributions to sensitise mental health and even called it inspiring.

Fast forward to now, both of them have eventually moved on in their lives. While Deepika is living her blissful marital life with Ranveer Singh, Siddharth Mallya, too, has moved on in his life and has found love again. For the unversed, it was on November 1, 2023, when he took to his IG handle and announced his engagement with his girlfriend, Jasmine. He proposed to her at a Halloween Party and the pictures were unmissable.
