Eminent filmmaker, Atlee rose to fame with the film, Jawan, which was released in September 2023. The film marked the comeback of Bollywood’s badshaah, Shah Rukh Khan to the silver screens after a break of five years, and surely enough, the film went onto carve an unparalleled fame at the box-office. For the unversed, Jawan became the second highest-grossing film in 2023 and bagged several wins at the Filmfare Award. Recently, Atlee, himself, bagged the Best Director award for the film.
During the Zee Cine Awards 2024, talented filmmaker, Atlee was honoured with glory over his magnanimous film, Jawan which was released in 2023. Additionally, he even bagged the award for Best Director. In a clip shared by a leading paparazzo page on social media, we noticed a special gesture between Atlee and Shah Rukh Khan, right at the moment when the former was awarded. As Atlee’s name was announced, the talented filmmaker rose up from his chair and duly touched SRK's feet, who was seated right beside him. Moreover, the duo then gave each other a tight hug, before Atlee proceeded to get his award on-stage from Rani Mukerji.

Well, it seems that Atlee’s gesture of touching Shah Rukh Khan’s feet during the award show has left many unimpressed. Taking to the comment section of the post, eagle-eyed netizens began to express their angst on such a talented filmmaker touching the feet of an actor. While one netizen commented, ‘Khud k talent pe bharosa rakhna chaiye, don’t freaking touch anyone’s feet, no one is god’, another internet user commented, ‘What was the need for him to fall on his feet..? He should fall to our south Indian director’.
Previously, at the press event for the film, Jawan, Atlee Kumar shared a hearty anecdote about Shah Rukh Khan. The filmmaker revealed that when the actor learned about the former’s wife, Krishna Priya's pregnancy news, SRK was immediately moved to tears. Moreover, SRK immediately advised Atlee to take care of his wife and spend as much time with her as possible.

Previously, in an interaction with News18, Shah Rukh Khan talked about taking a long hiatus of four years from films, post the mediocre success of his film, Zero. In her response, SRK revealed that he took the break in order to spend the time with himself. In his words:
“I think actually I never took the 4 year long break. Honestly for 1, 1 and a half year, I thought – Mai Thoda Sa Apne Aap Se Door Ho Gaya. Actor ko apne Kareeb rahna bahut zaroori jai. Films are so big and huge, sometimes you get carried away not in a bad way. I just wanted to be with myself. I though I’d sit home for 6-8 months, because at that time didn’t sign any films too. And again, I don’t file films in a jiffy. I am lazy internally.”
