Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan’s divorce back in 2004 came out to be one of the most gossiped, publicly discussed matters. The couple had left no stone unturned to reveal the nastiest secrets about their marital life in public, followed by a dramatic episode of their alimony and custody battle for their kids. For the unversed, the duo got hitched in 1991, when Saif was just beginning to start out in his career, and Amrita was an already seasoned actress in the Hindi cinema. For the unversed, Saif and Amrita were blessed with two kids, Sara and Ibrahim.
Back in the year 1991, right after their hush-hush wedding, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh had made an appearance in Simi Garewal’s show, Rendezvous. While the duo appeared to be quite in love with their picture-perfect marital bliss, nevertheless, there were also some revelations, which hinted at the beginning of some kind of discord between the two. For instance, at one point in their conversation, Amrita mentioned how she was absolutely insecure about Saif working closely with other actresses. Moreover, she went on to add how at times, she fought with him and also wished to bash his head with a frying pan. In her words:
“I would lie if I said I didn’t. I’ve been here. We’ve had our problems, we’ve had our fights. I think it’s normal for a woman to feel insecure. I cried and fought, did normal things that any woman wanted to do. I wanted to bash Saif’s head with a frying pan.”

The once much-in-love couple, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh called it quits in 2004. However, their separation was far from being amicable, and the duo nursed some severe ills against one another. While Amrita didn’t leave any stone unturned to badmouth Saif by revealing nasty secrets of their former marital life, Saif too made a shocking revelation when he mentioned the whopping alimony he had to pay to Amrita. Revealing how it was very difficult for him to gather so much money, Saif had said:
“I'm supposed to give Amrita Rs 5 crore, of which I've already given her approximately Rs 2.5 crore. Also, I'm paying Rs 1 lakh per month until my son becomes 18. I'm not Shah Rukh Khan. I don't have that kind of money. I've promised her I'll pay up the rest of the money, and I will, even if I've to slog till I drop dead."
Well, in yet another of his revelations, Saif Ali Khan blatantly revealed how his ex-wife, Amrita Singh didn’t allow him to meet their kids, Sara and Ibrahim post their divorce. In one of his older interviews with The Telegraph, Saif highlighted how their mother, Amrita brainwashed their kids against him and even revealed how his ex-wife kept their kids alone at home for work, who were managed only by househelps.

In the same interview, Saif also dug out another incident from his former marital life and revealed how at different points, Amrita Singh would point him out to be irresponsible. Moreover, he revealed how the former often abused the women in his family, especially his mother and sisters. He had mentioned:
“It isn't nice to be constantly reminded of how worthless you are and to have taunts, jeers, insults and abuses thrown at your mother and sister all the time. I've gone through all of it."
