Todd Meadows used to stay with his longtime partner and fiancée, Kennady Harvey, in Washington. They had a perfect family with four young kids. In fact, Todd and Kennady first met through mutual friends during a target-shooting outing. Soon, they developed a strong connection, which was before he made the decision to join the dangerous world of commercial crab fishing in Alaska. Just like any other couple, they enjoyed camping, hunting, and family activities.
Todd and Kennady's relationship was based on their shared love for nature and raising their children together. Some friends close to the pair used to credit Kennady for being Todd's biggest support in his fishing journey. Moreover, they were planning for a beautiful future together by house-searching for a bigger place for their kids and pets to grow. However, Deadliest Catch fame left for the 2026 crabbing season and never returned.
Now, an emotional moment came during the show's finale when the makers shared previously unseen footage of Todd's final FaceTime with his children. It was shortly before he died in a tragic accident on board. During the call, Todd's daughter shared how she was worried for his safety and told:
"I hope you're being safe. If you're not being safe, you better be safe."
In turn, the young fisherman assured her and said, "Oh, I'm being safe." In fact, he also promised his son that they would go fishing together once he returned home. The moment was just like any other simple chat, where people discuss everyday moments with their kids. Needless to say, it was heartbreaking to know that it proved to be his last conversation with his father.
After Todd's death, his family members shared how he was doing a demanding and dangerous fishing job to give a better future to his family. He was raising four children with Kennady. They included sons River, Lawson, and Kolson, with Aspen, whom he treated as his daughter.
Following his death, Kennady shared an emotional tribute for the love of her life and mentioned how he was her best friend, alongside being the father of her kids. Todd is also survived by his parents, Lucas and Angela Meadows, and multiple siblings.
Todd Meadows suddenly died on February 25, 2026. It was during the time he was aboard the Aleutian Lady in the Bering Sea. The 25-year-old deckhand was working during the fishing season but reportedly fell overboard while managing crab pots. Although the crew immediately tried to rescue him and soon pulled him out of the freezing waters, it wasn't enough.
Despite CPR and emergency assistance, they were unable to save him. Later, the official reports also confirmed that he died by accident due to drowning. It led to probable hypothermia caused by prolonged exposure to the icy waters.
