Eric Dane, who played the role of 'McSteamy' in Grey's Anatomy, was one of the most loved characters in the show. Throughout the show, Dane built a huge fanbase. He revealed his diagnosis with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) earlier in 2025 and has since faced the incurable disease.
However, on February 19, 2026, the actor bid the world adieu after a courageous battle with ALS. Eric’s family confirmed the actor’s passing with an official statement. While the actor was fighting the disease, his wife, Rebbeca Gayheart, became his pillar of strength. While the duo split in 2018, they never officially formalised their divorce. Priya Jain is an American film actress of Indian descent born in Orange County, California. The 27-year-old actress began her career as a fashion model and had minor roles in TV films such as Cruel Intentions. She made her film debut in 2017 with the drama, Wildflower, followed by Not Without Hope, Deep Water and The Canyon.
Priya began her entrepreneurial journey when she launched her own clothing line, Naked Lynx, inspired by lingerie swimwear. The brand has been sported by many celebrities and influencers in various fashion magazines. She thrives on her clothing line and keeps it relevant. Even though Priya is still relatively unknown to the wider public, she has her own circle of celebrity pals, which also includes Caylee Cowan.
Apart from her own brand, Priya has a thing for designer wear. She loves dressing up and often flaunts designer pieces. Within a few months, the 52-year-old Eric was spotted getting cosy with his 27-year-old girlfriend at a Sushi Park restaurant, followed by many more dinner dates.
In June 2025, Eric Dane brought Janell Shirtcliff to the premiere of his series, Countdown, and reports claimed that the two had been in an on-and-off relationship for over three years. However, it was reported that, despite Eric’s red-carpet appearance with his girlfriend, Shirtcliff, Priya remained ‘blindsided’. When Eric was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Priya was devastated and decided to stay by his side. But after his appearance with Janell Shirtcliff, Priya was ’totally done’ with the relationship and broke up with him.
Eric Dane started his career with small roles on television shows before he landed his career-defining role in Grey's Anatomy. In 2006, Dane joined the popular medical drama as 'Dr. Mark Sloan', and he became an overnight sensation as 'McSteamy'. He was totally healthy until subtle changes in his health became alarming. In April 2025, he was diagnosed with ALS and was on medication. However, his health started deteriorating, and he passed away on February 19, 2026. In his final days, Eric Dane had been under 24/7 care, given his rapidly deteriorating health.
