Clint Eastwood has announced his retirement from Hollywood. Amid that, let's take a look at his late partner, Christina Sandera.
Clint Eastwood is a well-known actor and film director. He appeared in over 60 films during his career, including The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, Unforgiven, The Mule, and Dirty Harry. However, after decades of his life devoted to the entertainment industry, the actor has quietly retired.
As Clint Eastwood takes a back seat and enjoys his life at home, fans have also grown intrigued by his personal life. While there are no updates on his current relationship status, the actor was most recently in a relationship with Christina Sandera. Unfortunately, she passed away two years ago.
Clint Eastwood has quietly retired from Hollywood after an impeccable run spanning almost seven decades, according to his son, Kyle Eastwood, who is a musician and composer. He revealed that he was lucky to have collaborated with his father on a few projects. However, now his dad has retired from the film industry.
Clint Eastwood found love again with his late girlfriend, Christina Sandera. The actor started dating her after his divorce from Dina Ruiz. However, their love was short-lived as she died two years ago. According to reports, she unfortunately died of a heart attack at age 61 on July 18, 2024. Clint issued a statement upon her death and stated:
"Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much."
According to reports, Clint Eastwood and Christina Sandera first crossed paths while she was working as a hostess at a property owned by the Gran Torino actor. Christina was working at the Mission Ranch Hotel, the hotel Clint had purchased in 1985 and spent millions of dollars renovating. He had turned the property into a luxurious resort. And while Clint is said to be a fixture at Mission Ranch, he's known to keep to himself. Confirming the same, he told Architectural Digest in 2016, "I'm not the jolly host type."
Despite Clint Eastwood's success, Christina Sandera preferred to stay away from the limelight. Instead of enjoying the glitz and glam, the couple opted for a quiet life together in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, a small coastal town in which Clint formerly served as the mayor. Even though their relationship was away from the spotlight, Christina would often show up to support Clint.
At the 2015 Oscars, Clint Eastwood's film, American Sniper, was nominated for six awards, including Best Picture, which meant there was no doubt that the actor would show up. However, what surprised the fans was that he brought Christina as his date, marking the couple's first public appearance together.
Even though Clint Eastwood's children didn't grow up together, his family is reportedly very close, and they welcomed Christina Sandera with open arms. In 2018, she joined Eastwood and his entire family, including three of his kids, his granddaughter and Eastwood's first wife, at the premiere of his film, The Mule. In May 2020, Scott Eastwood shared with Access Hollywood that they celebrated Clint's 90th birthday together as a big family, showing how close they all were.
Prior to dating Christina Sandera, Clint Eastwood had been married twice: first to the model, Maggie Johnson from 1953 to 1987, and later to news anchor, Dina Ruiz from 1996 to 2004. Outside of his two marriages, he also had long-term romances with Titanic actress, Frances Fisher and his The Gauntlet costar, Sondra Locke.
