Amid the Indiana Pacers star, Tyrese Haliburton, opening up about how his Shingles medication is making him gain weight, here's everything we know about his fiancee, Jade Jones.
Tyrese Haliburton is a well-known professional basketball player. He turned pro when he was selected with the 12th pick by the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the 2020 NBA draft. The 2021-2022 season was his final year with the Kings. Following this, began playing for the Indiana Pacers. While Tyrese’s time with the team has been pretty successful overall, 2025 was a tough year for the Indiana Pacers star point guard.
Not only did Tyrese suffer a torn Achilles tendon early in Game 7 of the NBA Finals, but in February, Tyrese also had to spend time away from the team after contracting shingles. Recently, on April 13, 2026, he revealed that the medication he has been taking for shingles has made him gain weight and be out of shape. As a result, it is also delaying his progress on the Achilles. Well, one person Tyrese can count on during this tough time is his fiancée, Jade Jones.
According to reports, Tyrese Haliburton's fiancée, Jade Jones, was born in January 1998 and was raised in Iowa. While in high school, she was a cheerleader. Apparently, Jade has also worked as an elementary school teacher in her home state. In a 2018 post, Jade credited her students for showing her why she is pursuing her dream of teaching. She wrote, "I have absolutely loved every minute of learning all about you & your education. You guys make my job too easy by being such amazing students."
Both Jade and Tyrese Haliburton attended Iowa State University. It is here that the duo met each other for the first time as students. Jade continued as she was a cheerleader at the university for the Cyclones. After the March 2020 season, she wrote that it was an integral part of her college experience. In her words, “I truly couldn't imagine my life without the sport. Cheerleading has carried me on a journey that I will never forget.”
Reportedly, Jade and Tyrese began dating in April 2019. The duo celebrated their sixth anniversary last year, in April 2025. To celebrate the day, Jade penned a sweet tribute for her longtime boyfriend on Instagram, calling him her “best friend forever.” She wrote:
"6 whole years of loving you. Every single day, you continue to amaze me!! You make this world shine so incredibly bright, and I’m so lucky to spend life by your side. You are so special to me, our love is one in a million."
Throughout his NBA career, one person who has always supported Tyrese Haliburton is his now-fiancée, Jade Jones. She has often attended games during Tyrese's time with the Sacramento Kings and the Indiana Pacers. In fact, Jade even travelled to the 2024 Olympics to see Tyrese represent Team USA. In a January 2022 Instagram post, Jade called herself Tyrese's biggest cheerleader. She proved she meant it for real when, two years later, Jade and her family showed up at a Pacers game wearing T-shirts with Tyrese's face on them.
Jade and Tyrese share a dog together, a mini goldendoodle named Ames. If a report by People is to be believed, the couple named the dog after the city where they first met. In a March 2023 interview with FanDuel Sports Network Indiana, Tyrese said that he and Jade decided to get a dig when they were living in California during his rookie year. For those unaware, this was in 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said that since they couldn't leave, there was nothing to do, which left them bored every day. He kept being like, “Let's get a dog.” Although Tyrese was initially nervous about having a pup, it did not take long for them to become inseparable. He told the outlet:
"My dog doesn't know how good or bad I play; he's just happy to see me. So I enjoy having one person in my life who, no matter how I play, they're going to greet me the same way every day."
Jade and Tyrese can often be seen travelling together. This includes the times when the NBA player has his games abroad. For instance, in July 2024, Jade and Tyrese visited London when they were in Europe for the Olympics. Later that year, in September, they went on a trip together to Disney World, Florida. A year later, in January 2025, the couple visited Paris alongside their friends.
Prior to the Olympics, Jade and Tyrese also flew to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. For those unaware, here, Tyrese reportedly took part in exhibition games with the US. Posting photos from her trip on Instagram, Jade wrote, “Collecting passport stamps,” followed by an array of emojis.
Last year, Jade and Tyrese got officially engaged after the NBA star got down on one knee on the basketball court at Iowa State's Hilton Coliseum. He had the place decked out with roses, candles and giant letters spelling, “Will you marry me?” After Jade said yes, the pair spent the rest of their day in Ames, Iowa. They also celebrated with their family and friends at Paddy's Irish Pub. Alluding to the proposal, Jade later wrote on her Instagram, “My forever. I'll never be over this weekend.”
