Born to parents Andrea and Scott Swift on March 11, 1992, Austin shares a very special bond with his darling sister, Taylor. He has always been spotted with her on her biggest moments. When Taylor found her passion for singing, Austin became a movie buff. It was his love for the movies that led him to the University of Notre Dame, where he started to explore acting. And by 2015, Austin graduated with a bachelor’s degree in film studies.
In 2016, Austin made his acting debut in the crime thriller, I.T., alongside Pierce Brosnan. In the same year, he was seen in the film, Live by Night, which also starred Ben Affleck and Zoe Saldana. Austin was later seen in films like Cover Versions, We Summon the Darkness and Braking for Whales. He also appeared in television series, Embeds and Still the King.

In 2022, Austin was not just Taylor Swift’s brother; he earned a name for himself when he earned his first ACM award. Austin was nominated alongside Taylor and Blake Lively in the Video of the Year category for their collaboration on the I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor's Version) music video. Over the years, we have witnessed Taylor and Austin’s bond, with Austin being her biggest cheerleader.

Apart from being Taylor’s constant cheerleader, Austin has also helped the singer with her musical rights. In 2025, Taylor announced that she'd acquired her music catalogue from Shamrock Capital, securing full ownership of her first six albums. She later revealed in a podcast that it was her brother, Austin, who helped her facilitate the deal with Shamrock Capital. Speaking about the same, she said:
“Rather than send lawyers or management, I sent my mom and my brother, who I work with, to L.A. They sat down with [the owners], Shamrock Capital, and told them what this meant to me. They told them the whole story. This changed my life. I can't believe it still. I'm so grateful.”
