Netflix's 'Desi Bling' highlights the lives of Indian expats in Dubai, and one such businessman, who surprised everyone with his wealth, is billionaire Satish Sanpal.
Netflix's newest reality show, Desi Bling, has become one of the most talked-about shows now. The series features the glittering world of Dubai’s ultra-wealthy Indian expat circuit, which includes billionaire couple Satish and Tabinda Sanpal, Rizwan and Adel Sajan, Dyuti Parruck, Pamela Serena, Alizey Mirza, Lailli Mirza, Janvee Gaur, Sana Sajan and Iryna Kinakh. Soon, all eyes were laid on the Sanpals, who not only live king and queen-sized lives, but also breathe ‘luxury’.
Satish Sanpal is one of the leading names in the business sector. Satish, the Chairman of ANAX Holding, is well-known in the global sector. The entrepreneur is known to live a life of luxury along with his wife, Tabinda Sanpal, and kids, Lakshya Sanpal and Isabella Sanpal. At the start of the episode, Satish recalled building his empire through the gold business before eventually achieving massive success.
But it was his wife, Tabinda’s casual revelation of pressing Satish’s feet every morning as the reason for their immense wealth. Elaborating on the same, Tabinda stated:
“Since I have been with Satish, I massage his feet every morning. He wakes up like a prince. He believes that if a wife touches her husband’s feet every morning, it brings wealth.”
Though Satish is one of the leading names in the business circles today, the man had a very humble beginning. Born into a modest family, Satish faced numerous financial challenges during his growing-up years. Originally from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, Satish left school after Class 8 and entered the business world at 15 with Rs. 50,000 borrowed from his mother. He started a small grocery shop, but it incurred losses and eventually had to shut down.
Despite all the challenges, the entrepreneur learned the value of hard work and started his journey to achieve a path of his own. Satish moved to the UAE to explore bigger opportunities, and it changed his life forever. When he came to Dubai, Satish had nothing; he began earning money by helping clients connect with stock market brokers. That gave him experience and confidence.
His first business venture was in the technology and real estate sectors, and the ace businessman later entered the media and hospitality sectors. With his forward-thinking approach, Satpal established alliances with leading hotel chains, which propelled his venture to great heights. He then began ANAX Holding, a conglomerate reportedly valued at around $3 billion, and now the group has three parts: ANAX Developments, ANAX Hospitality and ANAX Capital.
Satish always believed in his instincts. During the COVID crisis, when everything was shut down, Satish saw an opportunity and invested in undervalued Dubai properties, which later appreciated tenfold. One of the prime examples of his bold decision is his luxurious USD 120 million Dubai Hills mansion. Widely known in the upper-crest circle of the UAE as the most stylish entrepreneur, Satish’s popular nightclub, VII Dubai, is the most happening centre in Dubai.
Do you know Satish had promised to gift his wife gold equal to her body weight for their 10th wedding anniversary? In the show Desi Bling, Tabinda revealed that she already owns “40 kilos of gold” and receives an additional 3 kilos every year on Dhanteras.
Satish Sanpal is known for his luxurious lifestyle. Do you know that before his daughter Isabella’s birth, the doting dad had gold cutlery made for her, which comprised a Thali, a glass, and a 24-carat spoon. Sharing details about the same, Tabinda said:
“She was born at a very famous hospital in London where members of the royal family have also given birth. Before Bella was born, her father got gold cutlery made for her — she has a gold plate, gold glass and gold spoon.”
When Satish Sanpal’s daughter, Isabella, turned one, Satish gifted her a customised metallic pink Rolls-Royce Phantom worth Rs. 5.8 crores. Satish is a doting dad and never misses a chance to shower his love for his baby girl, Isabella. His social media handle, too, is filled with adorable moments of the father-daughter duo.
Satish made sure that his daughter Isabella’s birthday remained intact in people’s memories. For her birthday, the little angel arrived in a princess carriage wearing a dress and jacket made of 24-carat gold. Satish Sanpal also threw a grand first birthday party for Isabella Sanpal, attended by A-list celebrities such as Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Tamannaah Bhatia, and many others. For entertainment, Atif Aslam sang his popular melodies while Nora Fatehi showed her groovy moves.
Satish Sanpal is one of the wealthiest businessmen in Dubai. He, along with his family, resides in an ultra-luxurious residence in the iconic Burj Khalifa. He also owns several sprawling, luxury bungalows in the exclusive Dubai Hills neighbourhood. Apart from luxurious properties, Satish also owns swanky cars and a yacht.
