According to reports, Sammy Hagar's wife, Kari Karte, works as a producer. She has credits on several films and TV series, including those that involve her husband, Sammy Hagar. Kari has also appeared a few times in front of the camera. It was in 2005 that she made her debut on the reality series, I Married…, and about 10 years later, she appeared on the series, Oprah: Where Are They Now?
Some of Kari’s other works include Ram Dass, Going Home, and Rock & Roll Road Trip with Sammy Hagar. Many might be aware, but Kari has also worked as a producer on Sammy’s 1976 solo album titled Nine on a Ten Scale and his group’s album, Sammy Hagar & The Circle Live: At Your Service, which was released back in 2015.
Coming to her relationship with Sammy, the pair met at a mutual friend’s birthday party. Sammy has previously revealed that this was just two days before his own birthday. It was the rockstar who fell in love with Kari at first sight. Recalling his first meeting with Kari, Sammy once said:
"I met her and we kind of, you know, saw each other again and again and after about the third time we just stayed together."
Sammy and Kari’s bond developed quickly, and they got married on November 29, 1995. The duo reportedly had a pretty private wedding ceremony. Within a few months of their marriage, Kari and Sammy Hagar welcomed their first child, Kama, in April 1996. Kari gave birth to their second daughter, Samantha, in 2001. They are both doting parents to their daughters. Even as Kama and Samantha continue to grow older, they remain very close as a family.
Sammy often posts pictures of Kari and their daughters on Instagram, giving fans a closer look at their time as a family. It is worth mentioning that apart from Kama and Samantha, Kari is also a stepmom to two children from Sammy’s previous marriage, Aaron and Andrew.
Interestingly, despite being the wife of a well-known rockstar, Kari Karte prefers to lead a more private life. Kari also doesn't appear to be active on social media. However, Sammy often posts about her, highlighting her important role in his life. For instance, on their 25th marriage anniversary, Sammy shared a tribute for Kari and wrote:
“29 years ago I met this beautiful soul. 25 years ago today we got married & had two beautiful daughters. I would do it all again, again, and again.”
When Alex Van Halen asked if he had read Sammy Hagar’s autobiography, he directly said, “I don't know what he wrote; I don't wanna. In my opinion, Sammy Hagar is a complete idiot.” Sammy, on the other hand, addressed the comment and said:
“This comment and post is so unnecessary at this time in our lives, but I guess the truth hurts sometimes. Peace already.”
For the unversed, Alex and Sammy’s relationship worsened after the latter wrote about Alex’s brother, Eddie Van Halen, in his autobiography, Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock. Alex did not like the things that were written about his brother. Since then, Sammy has tried to make peace with Alex several times, but to no avail.
