Natalie Harp has spent years operating just outside the public spotlight, but she has suddenly become one of the most talked-about figures in Donald Trump’s inner circle. The 35-year-old aide is known for traveling constantly with the president, supplying him with printed material and helping manage his social media posts.

Recently, Harp's unusually close relationship with Trump has drawn renewed attention after Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff singled her out during a recent speech. Harp's estranged brother Preston Harp's recent comments about her "unhealthy" Trump obsession have further added to the controversy.

Who is Natalie Harp?

Harp first gained national attention in 2019 through her battle with cancer. Known as a "human printer," Natalie grew up in California and graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2012 before earning an MBA from Liberty University in 2015.

Harp's connection to Trump began through her experience with bone cancer. In 2019, Harp publicly credited Trump's Right to Try law with giving her access to experimental treatment after conventional options had failed. She wrote on LinkedIn that she was "living proof" of Trump's 2018 Right to Try law helping her access new treatments.

The former far-right news anchor was treated with an FDA-approved immunotherapy drug for an unapproved use after she was diagnosed with Stage 2 bone cancer. That experimental treatment ultimately saved her life.

Later, appearing at the 2020 Republican National Convention, Natalie told the President, "I wouldn’t be alive today if it wasn’t for you." Harp heaped praises on Trump for saving her life and said at the event:

"When I failed the chemotherapies that were on the market, no one wanted me in their clinical trials. They didn’t give me the right to try experimental treatments, Mr. President. You did, and without you, I’d have died waiting for them to be approved."

Trump praised her appearance, saying she had "lit up the television screen like very few people I have ever seen do it." The account of Harp's treatment later faced scrutiny, with The Washington Post reporting that medical experts questioned whether the treatment could actually be attributed to the Right to Try law.

Following Trump's 2020 election loss, Harp joined One America News Network, where she became a prominent Trump supporter and promoted his claims about the 2020 election. In 2022, she left OANN and began working directly with Trump.

During Trump's campaign to return to the White House, Natalie earned the nickname "human printer", as she always followed the president with a portable printer and battery pack to quickly provide him with printed news stories, social media posts, and other information.

That role has continued in the White House. Currently, Harp's official position is that of an executive assistant to the president, but reports indicate that her responsibilities extend well beyond traditional administrative duties. She frequently accompanies Trump during meetings, events, and trips, and also helps relay information to him, assisting with his Truth Social posts. Describing Harp's presence around Trump, a source told CNN: "She’s always around. Literally, always."

Why is Natalie Harp suddenly all over the news?

Harp's proximity to Trump came under renewed scrutiny after Ossoff mentioned her during a speech criticizing the president. The senator attacked Trump over his outings and referred to his "travel with Natalie," which drew backlash from Trump's allies and the White House.

The controversy intensified after reports that Harp was among a small group of people who accompanied Trump when he secretly changed aircraft while leaving Turkey because of an alleged security threat. Her presence on the flight fueled questions about just how much access she has to the president. New reports say Natalie worked in the White House for over a year without security clearance.

Harp's unusual influence inside Trump's orbit has also been a matter of debate, with critics saying it comes less from a formal position of power and more from her extraordinary access to the president. Reports have described Natalie as a "gatekeeper" and even a "comfort blanket" for Trump, who is sometimes present during his formal meetings.

The 35-year-old has frequently been photographed just feet away from Trump at White House events and on Air Force One. According to reports, she can quickly find documents, print articles and relay messages whenever Trump asks. That constant access has made Harp an important conduit between Trump and the outside world.

Fueling the buzz, Harp's estranged brother, Preston Harp, recently told CNN that his sister is Trump's "biggest fan" and has an intense fascination with him as she believes "he saved her life." He added, "It's actually kind of sad, that's obsession. That's an unhealthy obsession with someone if you're going to jump into the trunk of their car."

What are your thoughts on Natalie Harp's alleged "obsession" with the American President?
