With Kid Rock in the spotlight for going on a ride with Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and US Army Apache helicopter pilots, let's take a look at his relationship with ex-fiancee, Audrey Berry.
Kid Rock, born as Robert James Ritchie, is a famous American singer, songwriter, and rapper. His professional music career began in the late 1980s when he joined a hip-hop group called Beast Crew. Slowly but steadily, he established himself in the Detroit hip-hop scene. He found mainstream success with a rap-rock sound but later decided to change his performance style to country rock. Over the years, Kid Rock has released twelve albums.
At present, Kid Rock has been hogging the spotlight not for his music but “for a ride” that he went on with Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth on April 27, 2026, along with US Army Apache helicopter pilots. It is worth mentioning that the ride comes just a month after the military sparked criticism when Army pilots flew Apaches over Kid Rock's home in Nashville. With the singer becoming the talk of the town, many have begun wondering about his personal life. If you are one of them, here's everything we know about his ex-fiancée, Audrey Berry and their relationship.
If a report by the Detroit Free Press is believed to be true, Audrey Berry and Kid Rock met for the first time in suburban Detroit. What's interesting is that this was shortly after Rock and Pamela Anderson finalised their divorce in 2007. A report by Rolling Stone suggests that Rock actually spotted Audrey for the first time at a restaurant. After he asked her out immediately, the duo went on their first date in Chicago the very next day. Their relationship has continued ever since.
Despite being together for almost two decades, Kid Rock tries to keep his relationship with Audrey out of the media glare and rarely speaks about her in his interviews. However, he did briefly talk about his girlfriend during an interview with Piers Morgan in 2011. He said, “This is somebody who is not a celebrity. It can really be a tough thing to deal with. I'm thinking of somebody else, trying not to be so selfish.”
Johnny Cash is one of Kid Rock's most famous songs. However, did you know that his longtime girlfriend, Audrey Berry, had influenced the song? While having a conversation with Q magazine, the country singer admitted that the song on his album, First Kiss, was meant as a tribute to Audrey. Some of the lyrics of the song say:
“I like the way you hold my hand / And play just like my baby grand," the lyrics say. "I like how you don't give a damn / And love me just the way I am."
During the same interview with Q magazine, Kid Rock revealed that Audrey was hooked on being outdoors. He said that they often have binge-watching sessions together, such as watching the Hunting Channel and The Blacklist. In the end, he told the magazine, “That's relationships, right?”
It is worth mentioning that Kid Rock has been in quite a few high-profile relationships before he met Audrey. After being in an on-and-off relationship with the Baywatch star, Pamela Anderson, he married her in 2006 and divorced her in the same year. He has also been linked to Paris Hilton. After being with Audrey, however, Kid Rock confessed to the magazine:
“Life is so much simpler being with one girl. Now I'm not chasing chicks around, I've got so much more free time."
According to a Rolling Stone profile of Kid Rock published in 2015, Audrey loves to hunt, though at the time she had to take a break for a few months after breaking her leg in a nighttime ATV crash. In the same profile, reporter, Patrick Doyle, wrote about how the couple took turns during two hogs that they captured. He wrote, “Rock hands a rifle to Audrey, showing her where to aim at the blond boar. ‘Ah, they stink!’ she says, sticking the gun into the cage and firing. ‘Poor thing! Sorry, buddy.’" In October 2021, Kid Rock revealed to Hook & Barrel that his girlfriend had learned to shoot from none other than his rock star friend, Ted Nugent. He said, “She took right to it, but I'm too impatient.”
Audrey Berry was first spotted wearing a huge diamond ring on her finger at a Chillin' the Most fan cruise. While the cruise took place in April 2017, sources close to the couple told the Detroit Free Press that Audrey and Kid Rock had been engaged since earlier that year, but they chose to keep it private.
