Star Wars actor John Boyega recently shared surprising news: he's become a dad. The actor revealed that he is married and recently welcomed a baby with his wife. In an interview with the Guardian, when the reporter asked about his ring, Boyega said he's been married for two years.

Who is John Boyega’s wife?

Although John Boyega did not reveal his wife's identity in the interview, several reports claim he is married to actress Tae Heckard. Tae Heckard has appeared in #BlackAF and The Game. She was also seen in films like ATL, Back Then, and Getting Even. However, on October 14, 2026, John took to his IG handle and revealed that he had become a dad. The actor, who kept his wife’s identity secret, shared a series of pictures with Tae Heckard. Penning an adorable note, John wrote:

“Our bundle of joy has been with us for some time now, but thank you for all the well wishes. Also, my sister is about to pop! Wish her well too! Back to feeding this big baby!”

In September 2026, Tae hinted at their relationship when she posted a zoomed-in photo of her reflection in John’s sunglasses. As soon as the picture was shared, John commented, “So this is why you cook Pounded yam and egusi on Saturdays?? A tactical weapon of mass plan-canceling. I’m onto you, lover.” Soon, she replied to his comment:

“Baba…u feel the same way until summer rolls around…then I have no choice but to be outside on any given day.”

Another striking point is that Tae’s social media account lists her name as Tae Boyega. Before marrying John, Tae was in a relationship with NBA player Brandon Jennings, with whom she has a son, Brandon Byron Jennings Jr. She was also linked to NFL star Stefon Diggs in 2024.

John Boyega spoke about his intimate wedding

In an interview with the Guardian, John Boyega said he had a small wedding ceremony but wanted a huge celebration soon. In the same interview, Boyega also mentioned that he is now a stepdad to a young boy. The actor said his family is now complete, and he felt extremely happy about it.

Later in the interview, John Boyega also spoke about his wedding ring and revealed that the decision was spontaneous. Speaking about the same, he said:

“Yeah, this is our very sentimental ring. We decided to pick it up spontaneously because I just wanted the ring on my finger, so we went to Walmart to get it. It was a lovely trip to Walmart. I would love to have a wedding celebration. We both like the idea of celebrating something established, rather than celebrating the entry. And by then, we’ll have to shut Nigeria down!”

Boyega is an English actor and producer, best known for playing 'Finn' in the Star Wars franchise.
