American streamer and YouTuber, IShowSpeed, reportedly was subjected to racist abuse. This was during a FIFA World Cup match between Argentina and Cape Verde in Miami. Well, the 21-year-old YouTuber has hogged the limelight due to the controversy. Well IShowSpeed always had the dream of being in the limelight and here he is.

Well, according to the latest reports, FIFA has launched a formal investigation related to the racist abuse faced by YouTuber IShowSpeed. He had also faced many discriminatory incidents earlier. Well, FIFA revealed that they will investigate the incident in which a fan caused a ruckus in the stands. This was during the World Cup match that took place between Argentina and Cape Verde.

According to social media reports, American streamer and YouTuber, IShowSpeed was doing a livestream of the game. Well, during this, a fan wearing an Argentina jersey in Spanish reportedly told the YouTuber, who is Black, to "go cry to the zoo". FIFA had taken to their X handle and mentioned condemning racism, hate and discrimination in all forms. The tweet by FIFA read:

"These actions have no place in football, at the FIFA World Cup, or anywhere in society. ... The FIFA World Cup is a celebration of unity, diversity and respect. It brings together people, cultures and communities from around the world, and anyone who acts in a manner that undermines these values is not welcome in our game.”

Netizens come out and support IShowSpeed who faced racism at the FIFA 2026 World Cup

Well, according to social media reports, it seems like IShowSpeed's publicist has not yet commented on the incident. Angry netizens under the tweet of FIFA supported IShowSpeed. One user wrote, "We strongly condemn racism”. Stop lying; there are dozens of racist incidents involving Argentine players and fans, yet nothing was ever done. FIFA has lost its credibility and now is just like an African dictatorship. “Condemn”, “Warn”, “Monitor”, just useless buzzwords."

Another user penned, "You're just going to post this here and ignore the Paraguayan senator dumpster fire? Even Macron has made a statement. What's taking you so long?" A third user asked why the YouTuber went to the stadium in the first place. A part of the comment read:

"He came to hate-watch; those are insults every fan would make. Let’s know what racism and banter are. Big difference. Sports should be decided by performance on the field, not by political influence and racism. Rules have to apply equally to everyone. The best way to protect the game is to make every major decision explainable and accountable."

When IShowspeed started off, he just had one viewer

However, Speed in his livestreams has ensured that his fans get a global tour right from Southeast Asia to Europe to Australia. Once in an interview with Forbes, Speed revealed that when he started off, he used to just have one to two viewers. In his words:

"When I first started my stream, I only had one viewer, two viewers, and that kept me going,” he explained. “In week two, I started averaging four viewers. In week three, I started averaging 17 viewers. As more people watched, I thought I could get somewhere with this, and I had fun. So that's what kept me going."

Speed further revealed that it was in 2023 when he had taken his streams beyond his bedroom. He travelled internationally and started a new chapter in his career. He had revealed that his Euro tour was his first tour and that they had improvised very well on the same.
