Isabeau Levito is an American figure skater whose name has been constantly grabbing headlines these days. For those who are unaware, she is part of Team USA's figure skating team, which also includes Alysa Liu and Amber Glenn. The trio, often called the “Blade Angles”, are aiming to bag the gold medal for their country. A lot of expectations have been placed on Isabeau and the group ever since the US was utterly defeated in the women's singles competition at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

It is worth noting that all three young women are set to compete in the free skate and short program at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. If Isabeau or her teammates manage to earn a medal, they would be breaking a 20-year drought since Sasha Cohen bagged a silver medal in 2006, the last in an individual figure skating medal. Amid this, Isabeau, unable to hide her excitement, told NBC New York that she spent every night in the Olympic Village in Italy and that they can't “evict” her. As the countdown comes to an end for the 18-year-old Isabeau Levito to make her Olympic debut at the 2026 Winter Games, let's learn more about the figure skater.

When Isabeau Levito was only 3 years old, her mother, Chiara Garberi, enrolled her in skating classes. The reason she did this was to improve her daughter's balance. By the time Isabeau reached junior level, she was already making a name for herself, having won the 2022 World Junior Championship in Tallinn, Estonia. A year later, in January 2023, Isabeau claimed her first US Figure Skating Championship title in San Jose, California. She did not stop here, as in the next year, she won the 2024 World silver medal. Additionally, Isabeau has also become a five-time ISU Challenger Series medalist.

Speaking to Olympics.com in 2025, Isabeau opened up about the pressure she felt while competing in the sport. She said that from a young age, she was best known for not showing signs of nervousness while competing. She remembered being “just so relaxed backstage,” and never messing up on the ice, doing her job impeccably. However, along the way, she kind of lost that. While Isabeau has since credited her 2025 Stars On Ice touring schedule for helping her regain her lost passion for the sport, she confessed to the outlet at the time:

“It became less of going out and running my program that I do every single day in practice, and more of, ‘If I make this mistake, who will I disappoint? How many people are going to be sad? How many people are going to be upset? Am I going to lose my spot in this person’s eyes? I’m going to lose my spot in my country, and I’m going to lose my chance, my opportunity’. And then all of that just kind of…it kills you.”

Isabeau Levito has time and again mentioned that she is a huge fan of a Russian figure skater. It is none other than the two-time Olympic silver medalist, Evgenia Medvedeva, “the first figure skater who amazed” her. During an interview with FS Gossip in 2022, Isabeau recalled that she was only 10 years old when she went to the skating rink and watched Evgenia's performance on her mother's phone. She claimed that while skating “ is impossible to express in words, but I heard Medvedeva in her performance, she seemed to have taken me to her on the ice.”

Isabeau added that while no one ever achieved the ideal in figure skating, Evgenia's performance seemed as perfect as it could be. Since then, Isabeau has wanted to skate in the same manner as her idol.

A number of Isabeau Levito's routines draw on classic Hollywood glamour. One of her most memorable programs was when she referenced the movie, Breakfast at Tiffany's. As the song, Moon River continued to play, Isabeau performed her routine wearing a costume inspired by the iconic black dress that actress, Audrey Hepburn wore in the 1961 movie. In October 2025, Isabeau told Olympics.com that she loves playing characters. She said:

“It’s one of my favourite things about skating, being able to go on the ice and perform a program and be able to play a character and a part without it being my identity. When I do my Sophia Loren short program, I’m portraying Sophia Loren; no one’s saying, ‘Oh, that’s Isabeau’s personality’. That’s Sophia Loren. When I’m doing Breakfast at Tiffany’s, ‘That’s Audrey Hepburn, that’s not Isabeau.’ So, I get to try on all these characters and have fun skating as them.”

According to reports, for her routines in the 2026 Winter Olympics, Isabeau will perform a tribute to Italian actress, Sophia Loren. During her short program, she will skate to Loren's Zoo Be Zoo Be Zoo, while during her free skate, Isabeau will take to the ice to the music from the Academy Award-winning 1988 film, Cinema Paradiso.
