Craig Melvin is a renowned American broadcast journalist and anchor at NBC News. He was a co-host of the Today Third Hour before becoming a permanent host in January 2019. More recently, in January 2025, he was made co-anchor for the first and second hours of Today.

At present, Craig Melvin is hogging the limelight due to an on-air slip-up he made. For those unaware, Craig revealed that his co-anchor, Jenna Bush Hager, is about to make a surprise cameo in The Devil Wears Prada 2. While it was an honest mistake because he thought it was “common knowledge” already, the focus has shifted to Craig's personal life, especially his wife, Lindsay Czarniak.

If a report by The Washington Post is to be believed, when Lindsay Czarniak met her now-husband, Craig Melvin, for the first time, she was a sports journalist for WRC. Apparently, she was away on assignment covering the 2008 Olympics in Beijing when Craig joined the network as a news anchor. After she returned, Lindsay introduced herself to Craig during a commercial break. They soon became friends and casually hung out for a few months before Craig asked her out for drinks. While she was hesitant about getting into a relationship with a colleague, she did not say no to the meet-up. Recalling the time she said: 

"That night when we met, there was something that clicked. And it wasn't necessarily that I knew, 'I have to be with this guy.' But it was like, 'I don't want to be with anyone else that I'd hung out with.' It felt like being with the person that really gets you and that you've known for a really, really long time."

After Lindsay and Craig began dating, they initially kept their relationship under wraps for a couple of months. Following this, the duo got engaged during a trip to Miami, Florida, in 2011. Lindsay and Craig got married in the same year, tying the knot in a ceremony at the Church of the Holy City in Washington, D.C., on October 15, 2011. According to The Washington Post, the couple's guest list included many of their colleagues from WRC, where they first met.

It is worth noting that after their ceremony concluded, Craig and Lindsay travelled to the Hay-Adams Hotel in a vintage Bentley for the reception. The venue, decorated with orange roses, hosted approximately 200 guests. Additionally, they were serenaded by Lee Anne Myslewski.

Lindsay Czarniak and Craig Melvin share two children together  

In March 2014, Lindsay and Craig welcomed their first child, son, Delano “Del.” Two years later, in November 2016, the duo embraced parenthood for the second time with the birth of their daughter, Sybil “Sibby.” Apparently, Delano helped inspire his little sister's name. When coming up with her name, Craig and Lindsay thought of “Sibby,” short for “sibling,” so that Delano could refer to his sister by it while Lindsay was pregnant. When the couple fell in love with the name, it eventually stuck with their little girl.

If you have been following Craig and Lindsay for a while, you might be aware that they often post their children on social media. This includes the time the pair spent with their children at the 2023 Super Bowl. During a candid conversation with People, Lindsay recalled, “The lasting image, for me, will be the confetti raining down and just watching my son be so happy and also my daughter just getting into it…it's awesome.”  

Lindsay Czarniak is a sports reporter for Fox Sports  

Lindsay is a FOX NFL and FOX NASCAR reporter for the Fox Sports network. According to a report by People, she has been with Fox since 2019. Talking about her work, Lindsay told the publication that she loves the opportunity to share what's going on, talk about and cover a game, and help people understand the context behind it. Prior to joining her current workplace, Lindsay worked at ESPN from 2011 to 2017. She has anchored SportsNation, SportsCenter, and NASCAR Now. It is worth noting that while Lindsay worked there, she became the first woman to host ABC's coverage of the Indianapolis 500.

Lindsay Czarniak has acted in films 

While we often see Lindsay on camera as a journalist, many might not know that she has also worked as an actress. She has a minor in studio art from James Madison University. While talking to Washington Life Magazine, Lindsay said: 

“I love theatre, and one of my favourite things is going to movies and concerts. I could spend all day at a movie theatre, especially if scary movies are playing.”

In the year 2000, Lindsay appeared in the action film, Aquarius. A decade later, she starred in the horror film, Ghosts Don't Exist, where she played the role of a news reporter. To mention, the movie featured former Washington Commanders tight end, Chris Cooley and won the DC Filmmaker Award during the DC Independent Film Festival in 2010.  

Lindsay Czarniak is a minority interest owner in a thoroughbred racehorse  

Another fact many might not be aware of is that Lindsay Czarniak is a minority owner of a thoroughbred racehorse. Back in March 2023, Lindsay joined the cast of the second season of America's Best Racing's A Stake in Stardom. Here, she became the minority interest owner in partnership with West Point Throughbreds and Final Furlong Racing Stable. For the unversed, the show provides new thoroughbred owners the chance to experience the sport and the lifestyle of thoroughbred racing by attending events like the Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes, and more. Coming to Lindsay's racehorse, it is named Parnac, which she invested in with NFL Network Insider, Ian Rapoport.
