According to reports, Alix Earle’s stepmom, Ashley Erle, hails from New Jersey. However, she has previously admitted that she ran away from home at the age of 17 to live in New York City. She had intended to pursue a music career there but eventually ended up working for an escort service.
While working as an escort, Ashley found herself in the middle of a highly publicized sex scandal with the former governor of New York, Eliot Spitzer. In a November 2008 interview, Ashley said that the worst part about the whole incident was when her mother found out. Instead of being angry, her mother was actually supportive, but it was still extremely painful for her.”
At present, Ashley Earle appears to be active as a social media influencer. On Instagram, where she has over 35k followers, Ashley shares several photos of her family outings. She also posts a decent amount on TikTok and boasts over 350,000 followers on the platform.
In July 2025, Ashley shared a throwback video from 2016 that featured Alix Earle and Ashtin Earle from when they were still teenagers. In the video, the duo could be seen banging on the door with their shoes and even honking their car horns at 1 a.m. Ashley claimed that she had no idea of what was going on outside their home. She wrote in the caption:
“TJ and I take sleep very seriously. As you can see here. We live in a castle, so you really can’t hear anything. We didn’t have a doorbell in 2016. lol. 1930’s old stone house.”
Ashley added that it was one of her core memories. She also said that she was confused about how the teens got inside the house in the end.
Coming to Ashley’s relationship with Alix’s dad, Thomas Earle, the duo had an affair in 2008, which had put the Hot Mess podcaster's family in the spotlight. During a 2023 episode of Call Her Daddy, Alix confessed that she didn't realize until several years later that her family had been hiding her from the paparazzi. Alix noted that she was in elementary school when the news of Ashley and Thomas’ affair broke and said:
“I had been reading articles about what had happened, about the times my dad has taken me to go get ice cream, and it’s really because there’s paparazzi outside my house and he’s hiding us from them. I felt like my world crashed down in that moment.”
Five years after their affair, Ashley and Thomas finally tied the knot on October 13, 2013, while visiting Paris. Alix and her sister, Ashtin, did not get to attend the wedding and only got to know about the marriage on a random day on the drive to school.
It is worth noting that Ashley and Alix’s father, Thomas Earle, share a significant age gap. Ashley was reportedly born on April 30, 1985, making her 41 years old as of September 2026. And while Thomas’s date of birth is not publicly available, it is believed that he was born in the early 1970s. This shows that Ashley and Thomas have an estimated age difference of about 13 to 15 years.
