The confirmation comes after fans have been speculating for months that the couple will tie the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony on February 26, 2026. Rashmika Mandanna, hailed as the National Crush after she starred in the 2016 Kannada blockbuster Kirik Party. She was loved for her performance in the film, starring actor Rakshit Shetty opposite her. Rakshit not only starred as the lead in the film but also produced it. During the making of the film, sparks flew, and soon the on-screen love was transformed into off-screen.
Rashmika and Rakshit had a 13-year age gap. Despite the same and despite the fact that she had just started her career, Rashmika got engaged to the actor. She was just 21 when she got engaged to Rakshit and had to convince her parents of the same. The duo got engaged on July 3, 2017, in a grand ceremony attended by many popular names from the film industry.

In an interview with International Business Times, Rashmika revealed how Vijay helped her overcome her breakup with her ex-boyfriend, Rakshit Shetty. Speaking about the same, she stated:
“I was recovering from my breakup with Rakshit Shetty. I needed comfort and care, which I found in Deverakonda. I was struggling to cope up with my emotions, and it was he who lifted my spirits. He was the one who made me understand that there was a different world outside, waiting for me to embrace."
Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda have been rumoured to be in a relationship ever since they starred opposite each other in films like Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade. In January 2026, reports said the lovebirds are set to get married on February 26, 2026, with the ceremony taking place in Udaipur. However, after years of speculations, it was Rashmika who recently confirmed her relationship with Vijay with an official announcement.
On February 22, 2026, Rashmika took to her IG handle and posted a note for her fans, who have been rooting for her and Vijay. She announced her wedding with the hashtag of Virosh, which had been given to the couple by their fans. Her note can be read as:
“Our Dearest loves, before we made any plans, before we chose anything for ourselves you were already there. With so much love, you gave us a name. You called us ‘VIROSH’. So today — with full hearts, we name our coming together in your honour. We would like to name it —‘The Wedding of VIROSH’.”
