According to several media reports and updates shared by Rita Ephrem's family, she passed away after suffering from the complications of her rare autoimmune condition. The illness made her immune system malfunction, leading it to attack her body rather than protect it. Rita's condition worsened over time due to the complications of the disease in the days leading to her death. Eventually, on March 14, 2026, her family shared that she was placed under critical care.
Despite intubation and intensive treatment with multiple anticipated therapies, Rita passed away. Her family shared a note on her social media handle to announce her demise, marked with "great struggle, courage and pain" Additionally, they added that she has "gone to find rest in heaven". Although her demise was not entirely unexpected due to her declining health, it had an impact on her followers who witnessed her journey, wishing for her recovery.
