For those unaware, he recently proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Kasi Bennett, during his 40th birthday celebration. Photos from their special day are already doing the rounds on the internet, leaving fans gushing. Additionally, it has also left many curious to know more about Bolt’s fiancée.
Just like Usain Bolt, his fiancée Kasi Bennett also hails from Jamaica. In a 2016 profile with journalist Ian Boyne, the athlete referred to Kasi as an “uptown Jamaica girl.”
When she got together with Bolt, the Jamaican sprinter initially wanted to keep their relationship private for as long as possible. At that time, he feared that if the news came out, Kasi would have to face intense media scrutiny. Bolt said that he had explained to Kasi how “a lot of people will try to attack her,” so he advised her to “take it easy” and make sure that she is ready for her identity to be known to the world. He added:
“I don't definitely hide…but we don't try to put it out in the media like ‘here she is’ because I personally know what's going to happen.”
It was during the 2016 Olympic Games that Bolt and Kasi made their relationship public. Kasi couldn't contain her excitement as the athlete made history in the tournament. Posting a photo of Bolt from behind, she wrote in the caption, “The story is already written. Time to publish #LEGEND,” followed by his signature lightning bolt emoji.
Later, Kasi answered some questions from fans on X (formerly Twitter) about how nervous she was during the games. After Bolt bagged three gold medals, she also tweeted, “What did I say?! My Boss did that! #TeamBolt,” followed by a heart and Jamaican flag emoji.
Shortly after Bolt’s amazing performance, he and Kasi went on a vacation to Bora Bora. They became Instagram official when Kasi shared an adorable snap of the two, where Bolt can be seen giving her a one-armed embrace. She captioned their first public photo together, “All that matters.”
As their relationship progressed, in January 2020, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child together. At that time, Bolt shared a photo of his fiancée wearing a red dress that showed off her baby bump. While he claimed in an interview with PEOPLE that Kasi was super excited to be pregnant, he revealed feeling nervous about becoming a first-time dad.
Interestingly, it was Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness who first shared that the athlete and Kasi had welcomed a baby girl on X in May 2020. Later, Bolt revealed that he and Kasi had named their daughter Olympia Lightning.
On June 20, 2021, Bolt shared that they had embraced parenthood for the second time. On Instagram, he posted a picture of his twin boys alongside the whole family. He revealed the names of the boys in the caption as Saint Leo Bolt and Thunder Bolt.
On August 21, 2026, Usain Bolt proposed to Kasi Bennett during his 40th birthday celebration at the One Belmont in Kingston, Jamaica. Photos from the proposal showed the sprinter getting down on one knee with a microphone in front of Kasi. Bolt looked dapper in a beige checkered suit while Kasi looked gorgeous wearing a gold bodycon dress with silver sequin detailing on the special day.
According to reports, Bolt proposed with a 5-carat ring that features a pear-shaped diamond cushioned between several diamonds wrapped around the band. He is also believed to have popped the question to Kasi in front of all their family and friends.
