Going further in the interview Urmila also mentioned that she has always loved the way, Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated at her native place in Konkan and also stated the difference between the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Mumbai and in Konkan. She added, ''The way the festival is celebrated there is the way I have always enjoyed it the best. I also love the way the celebrations are planned and executed in practically every corner of Mumbai, but back home, we don’t have loudspeakers, bhajan CDs blaring out all day.''

Urmila Matondkar also recalled the times when she was in Konkan and had enjoyed the Ganpati celebrations, the last time. She told the publication, ''I must have been really tiny when I visited our native place during Ganpati celebrations. I was mesmerised. There are these gushing rivers where we perform an aarti and kirtan and later complete the visarjan vidhi. The atmosphere was so pious and beautiful. I still remember the taste of the cashew and coconut sweets made at home. The celebrations are completely in tandem with Mother Nature. As I grew up, the visits to our native place became infrequent because of my school schedules.''
