The civil assault-and-battery trial between the NFL wide receiver and Keeta has officially commenced in Miami on October 6, 2026. Keeta made explosive allegations against Tyreek that could put his career at stake.
NFL analysts predict that the former Miami Dolphins star, who is now a free agent, might not be signed by any team due to his ongoing controversy. Among the accusations levied by Keeta against him were that he allegedly punched her in the stomach while she was pregnant and subjected her to immense mental and physical abuse throughout their short-lived marriage.
Keeta Vacarro is seeking damages from her estranged husband, Tyreek Hill, along with punitive damages. She accused him of inhuman behavior towards her before and during their 18-month marriage, including an attempt to harm her unborn child as he "didn't want the baby" anymore. Keeta claimed that during a heated moment during their courtship period, Tyreek attempted to punch her stomach while she was pregnant with their only child, a daughter named Capri.
Keeta added that she put her hands on her stomach to block Tyreek's strike, which made contact with her hands. In that way, she allegedly saved baby Capri from harm, who was born in November 2024. The altercation between Tyreek and Keeta allegedly took place a few months earlier, in July 2024. According to The Athletic's Jesse Newell, Keeta said it was the worst abuse she had faced from Tyreek. In Jesse's words:
"During civil trial today, Tyreek Hill's ex-wife Lakeeta Vaccaro Hill accused him of attempting a punch at her stomach while she was pregnant with his child in July 2024...She said Tyreek told her then that he didn't want the baby. Lakeeta described the day as 'probably the worst of all these abuse times.'"
Jesse Newell added that Keeta stated Tyreek didn't stop at just the punch attempt. He allegedly kept on with his abuse spree. According to Jesse's account of Keeta's court testimony, Tyreek "pulled her hair and ripped it out the same day."
Keeta Vaccaro claimed that she had silently endured domestic violence for a long time and it was finally time for her to take a stand for herself. She shared that she and Tyreek had their occasional good phases, but the bad ones eventually overshadowed them. During the first day of trial, Keeta stated that she could no longer be able to live with the abuses of the "angry man" anymore. In her words:
"During this whole period of an 18-month marriage, it's been a consistent two week on, two weeks off situation. Of course, we had our moments where it was beautiful, but the two weeks of when he goes back to this angry man, it's bad. It's something I can't live with today. I can't allow my daughter to see. I'm a new mom, obviously. I've endured a lot of abuse during this marriage, and I've been very silent."
Tyreek Hill's attorney, Christie Bright responded to Keeta Vaccaro's bombshell accusations by urging the jurors to examine the "serious allegations" against the evidence presented in court. The counsel added that, "Taking an allegation seriously doesn't mean accepting it because it was made. It means examining the evidence." Tyreek and Keeta's trial is expected to last about 10 days.
