Twisha Sharma's death case has reignited the buzz of a woman's true home after marriage. The 33-year-old former actress kept pleading with her parents to take her away as she wasn't able to stay in the toxic marriage. In one of her last messages to her mother, she told her that her husband questioned her integrity by asking whose child it was; in response, her mother asked her to ignore it.

CBI arrested Giribala Sing in Twisha's death case

On May 28, 2026, CBI arrested her mother-in-law in Twisha's death case. A CBI team reached Giribala Singh's home after her bail plea was quashed on May 27, 2026. They opposed the anticipatory bail of a former judge. They put across the fact that her custodial interrogation was needed in the probe to find the truth. During the hearing, CBI stated that Giribala left no stone unturned to malign her late daughter-in-law's character.

Not only this, but CBI also allegedly accused Twisha's mother-in-law of dowry harassment and attempting to destroy evidence. They also forced her to terminate a pregnancy. The agency further told the court that injuries were found on Twisha's wrist and elbow, and the in-laws failed to give an explanation about the marks. As per CBI, the medical team has ruled out the fact that the injuries were caused during the autopsy or taking her body down.

The CBI also pointed out a WhatsApp chat that claimed Giribala and Samarth questioned her character after learning about her pregnancy. In fact, Twisha was even forced to undergo an abortion, and they accused her that the unborn child belonged to someone else. A single judge of the Jabalpur Bench of the MP High Court urged that the bail was granted to her in a hurried manner without acknowledging the seriousness of the case.
