In a video circulating online, Tony Kakkar addresses the backlash. He starts the video by saying that he has been reading the comments and has been immensely enjoying them. He further explained the business angle of such songs and shared that, to produce songs with depth, he needs to produce them with the money earned from songs like Candy Shop. He was quoted as saying:

"One lollipop, two lollipops, three lollipops, ary ary ary mazza aa raha hai sab comments padhne mei. Pop music hai troll toh hoga ek certain level pe par bohot audience hai yaar, you cannot ignore the business. And 'koi apna hoga' aur 'ye zindagi bata de' jaise video ko produce karne ke liye uspe jo paisa lagta hai, vo inhi videos se aata hai. So thank you, kardo viral, aur kaafi ho bhi gaya hai. Baaki jitna aur bhi karna hai kardo, baat karna hai, gaali do, pyaar do, bas views do."
